CHAPTER FIFTEEN Mabel was going through her mail when she saw the large envelope. It was marked ‘confidential’. She walked to her desk and sat down. By the time she opened it, she was in tears. It was an official mail confirming her disbarment. This was the end of the road. All she had worked for was now in the trash. The proceedings had become necessary when the police found Selina’s diary in the course of their investigation. It’s funny that Selina died at the same spot. Standing there had brought back serious nostalgia. But that was years ago. She was unconsciously expecting criminal charges as well. It was odd that nobody was pressing charges against her.
