Alexdrina POV

I had woken in the night in cool clamy sweat unable to forget the piercing gaze of the man I'd seen afew days ago my wolf zoey had been out of sorts since that day but I couldn't talk to anyone about her for fear of what would happen to me or my parents if the locals found out what I was. when my wolf came to me I was terrified I thought I was going insane and I would be locked in asylum for being mad or worse beaten and then killed. No one has ever told me that I was something else not human not even my parents were they the same did they have wolves in their heads? as snapping me out of my thoughts my wolf piped up "we are 18 tomorrow drina we need to get out of here tonight to complete the shift if I don't shift ill become weaker and unable to protect you!"

"I know zoey I'm working on it okay? we will be out of here as soon as my parents go to sleep before the moon reaches its peak"

A soft knocking came from the other side of the door drina knew this would be her mother Ivy "Drina? are you awake honey? I've made you breakfast hurry now before it gets cold" I smiled to myself she's always been so wonderful to me the best mama but I wonder why her and pops never had anymore after me. "coming mama just washing and changing"

I stepped out of my room and into the kitchen where my mama had made me my favourite pancakes with syrup scrambled eggs and bacon with a glass of fresh orange juice. "its your birthday tomorrow sweet girl finally a young lady I am so proud of you" my mama said with a smile that didn't quite reach her eyes I felt a pang of hurt was she upset with me or hiding something I don't know "I have a bad feeling drina something is about to go down but I don't know what! I'm scared" Drina tried to hide the worry on her features and smiled back at her mother.

"Honey when you've eaten your breakfast I need you to go into the village to do a few errands please" ah there was the feeling drina hated going into the village some of the girls had it out for her due to her looks and their is one particular male that won't leave her alone and claims he is in love with her. drina sighed and plastered on a fake smile and replied "anything for you mama just tell me what you need"

that's My good girl ivy replied to her again a smile not reaching her eyes.
