Angel POV

I woke up late than the usual, I let myself to enjoy yesterday with Beno, today I decided to finally avoid him, having him around confuse me, I know that he want something for me but I know to myself that I am slowly falling into his trap.

I look around at my room, I look outside the window, the pretty garden and the pool, this huge house, the elegant and expensive things in this house, they slapping to me the reality that a man like Beno is not fit for me. He is touching my heart every time he cares about me, his infectious goofy smile is pinned in my heart.

He keeps calling me, I have to face him, I think I am just touch because he is the first man I entertain, not because I like him but because he is my boss.

“Yes Sir?”

“Damn Angel, I am worried, you didn’t go to school today? I passed by in your room but you’re not there. Are you sick? Something happen? Do you need my help?”

“Nothing, I am just tired and I oversleep”

“Okay, I thought something happen to you, I have my last class this afternoon, see you later”

“Okay bye” I hang up.

If he want to play with me then I will play along. My desire to have a better future is bigger than my confused feelings towards him. I ignore all his text and help Mom in household chores. I make myself busy the whole day to forget all my worries. A few hours later, I already heard Beno’s car, I immediately turn my back and plans to stay in my room but unfortunately Mom ask me to assist Beno, to get his things and prepare his snacks. What a bad timing.

“Are you hungry Sir? Do you want me to prepare some snack?” I asked poker face, but he smile widely at me, his goofy smile that is very infectious, he looks like a dog in that smile.

“Come on let’s eat in the garden, I bought bread and coffee from known coffee shop, you must try this, it tastes like heaven” he drag me in the garden, he is smiling while unpacking the food, it smell delicious.

“Are you a coffee lover Angel? I love coffee, this is for you, I thought you’re sick, you’re not replying to my txt, you got me worried”

“Thanks, yes I love coffee too, but this is the first time I will try an expensive coffee”

“Aren’t you body conscious? I bought bread and cakes, I love to eat this together with coffee” he start eating and I am staring at him, if he is fated for me, why in this situation? I don’t ask for rich and handsome man I just want a simple responsible man, a warm and considerate man.

“No I’m not, I don’t do diets”

“Wow but you’re still sexy, some girls train hard in the gym to maintain their body, try this one” he hand me a chocolate muffin.

“Thank you”

“Hmm since you didn’t go to school today, I asked a copy of your lesson today so you can catch up tomorrow, here, read this before you sleep, I overheard you have a quiz tomorrow” he hand me the photocopy of today lesson and he continue eating. I look down at the notes, and I am touch by his gesture again, here I am again, falling slowly.

BENO POV

I look up at Angel, she is not in his usual mood, she used to always argue with me, but today, she is staring blankly at me. She is eating with her poker face, still, I find her very feminine in that gesture.

“Hey Angel the young and innocent, are you okay? You’re not in your usual self”

“What is my usual self to you Sir Beno?” she asked me blankly

“ Well, my Angel is someone who is tough to fight with me, to argue with me, she is strong in every aspect”

I hold her hand, assuring her that whatever she is thinking she can do it. Still, I am not contented not until she spill to me why she’s not in her usual self.

I am just joking, trying to lift up her mood, and my trivia is just a joke, but here she is talking brightly to me.

“I want to kiss you, but since maids may see us, just let me hold your hand, they wont notice us they are busy.

“Yeah we are busy, can I go back to the kitchen? I’ll help Mom to prepare your dinner”

“Hmm then let’s cook together, let Nanny Lydia rest”

ANGEL POV

He follows me in the kitchen, he dismissed the maid in the kitchen and I start to cook for him, after an hour of cooking and talking senseless with Beno, I prepare his dinner.

“Woah you’ll be a perfect housewife someday Angel, you cook well”

“I don’t like to be a housewife, I want to have a career on my own”

Every remarks he said is always against my principle, like a women should be always a housewife, I believe that women shouldn’t settle for less, not just a wife but a women with strong will to follow her dreams. Falling inlove doesn’t mean to sacrifice what you want in life, love should let you grow not love that prison you in a responsibility that you should stay in the house because you are a woman.

“Well, If I am going to have my own family, I prefer also that my wife will stay in the house” he said while eating

“And why? Are you insulting women because of her capacity to make a living?”

“No, women are very precious, it’s just that I don’t want my future children to experience what childhood I experienced” he is serious and his eyes looks sad, for the first time, I think my opinion isn’t right for Beno.

I am waiting for him to continue, wanting to hear his side of story, he finished eating and drink his water.

“My mom is a career woman, she is a business minded , do you know that my parents has a separate business? They are successful, but in consequence of that they neglect their children, I grew up with Nanny Lydia, I think I only see Mom once or twice a year, I never experience a mother love, I go to family day alone yearly, I claim my awards alone in the stage, sometimes I think they didn’t care”

“You have a point, but for me I want to be successful on my own, I don’t want to be just a wife”

“Why are we talking about being a wife? You aren’t agree yet to be my buddy then we’re talking about you being a wife? Haha”

“Why don’t you look for a serious relationship then Beno ?” I asked curiously, he sounds like a romantic partner earlier.

“Hmm I don’t want a serious relationship coz’ I am not yet ready to be serious in life”

Disappointed on his answer, I choose not to respond and start cleaning all the mess in the kitchen. I am confused to what I feel, but I am sure that he is someone special to me.

BENO POV

I am pacing back and forth, waiting for Angel. She’s not responding to my txt and calls, she is giving me mix signals, sometimes I feel that somehow maybe she has affection to me, then next day she’s ignoring me again. She’s avoiding me again, and it’s been a month since we last talk. She’s not there on my birthday and I didn’t see her also on her birthday. I rarely see her also on school, but I always try my luck in her building.

Finally, after an hour of waiting I saw her, I smile at her. I decided to walk near her.

“So you are Beno new toy, and you are also the crown stealer” Janine shout at Angel, Janine is my previous fling, students are looking at them I walk fast to stop Janine.

“Excuse me Miss, but do I know you?” Angel said raising her eyebrow at Janine

“What the, you didn’t know me? I am quite popular here since I am pretty” Janine said irritated, I decided to listen how Angel handle a catfight, Janine is always like that, she always make a fight to every girls links to me.

“Too bad, I didn’t know you Miss, maybe because you’re not really pretty, if you’ll excuse me I have a lot of things to do than to deal with immature people like you”

“Not too fast flirt” Janine pull Angel hair but to my surprise, Angel remain calm and hold Janine hand tightly

“Stop or I’ll break your bones? Don’t you dare start a fight with me, next time before applying for a make up make sure you’re not just a beauty, don’t be just a beauty”

Everyone watching in the scene was shouting Angel name, she gain more fans I guess, Angel is popular not because of her beauty but also because of her brains, aside from that she is also the student president.

“Angel wait”

She walk pass through me and I follow her.

“How many girls should I deal on because of you?” she asked me angrily.

“Sometimes my handsome face really give me a trouble, I’m so sorry, but you are really a wildcat you know”

“It’s none of your business Beno” she said plainly.

I drive fast to reach my condo, I want to talk to her privately, only the 2 of us.

“What the hell Beno, slow down, where are we going?” she’s shouting

After minutes of driving, we’re finally in my condo, This building was owned by my mother and as a birthday gift, she grant me one unit here, and one more thing is this business was named to me so apparently I owned this place.
