I couldn't believe that a mere girl could humiliate me like that.
The rage I felt was indescribable.
It's worth laughing at.
It didn't look like me right there.
It's either I wanted to use my hands and destroy my dad's company or I obliged her.
She left without even a word to me.
I tried calling her but she seemed to be lost in her world.
I ran insane.
Inside the car, I wasn't myself.
What's with this girl anyway, despite what she did to me, she was everywhere in my head.
The only I remembered about her was her name, when the policeman called her. I couldn't stop recalling the scene and recoiled in anger every single time.
We had trailed her home after she left, and it seemed she had changed her mind about where she was going, her face looked horrible while she answered the call, and I felt like asking her what the problem was.
Damnit, not so fast. I would be looking like an asshole if I did.
She looked soggy and tired.
I had to find out where she headed.
I asked my driver to follow her as she boarded a cab after a little walk.
I picked up my phone and dialed a number.
"Postpone the meeting"
Another call went through immediately.
"Check Bosten College and find out if there's anyone by the name Maya. Find out who she is.
I need it in an hour, Don't waste my time else you will hear from me."
I threatened.
I managed to grab her name while she was speaking to the cops, they seemed to be acquainted.
It heightened my intrusion to know who she was.
"Should we leave now?" The driver was peeking at me through the mirror.
I had forgotten we had been in front of her house for some minutes.
I had shamelessly been following her from her school down to her house.
"Move!!" I ordered.
We reached the company, and I walked to my office, ignoring all the gaze on me.
My assistant walked into the office with files.
"I have sorted them out sir, the meeting will commence soon."
"Postpone it, I'm not in the mood."
She was bewildered.
I wouldn't blame her for looking so confused, it's unlike me to be this careless about the company that I take so seriously, like my life.
"I have a message for you sir" She continued carefully.
"Earlier today, Mr Sanford, CEO of Bullion Group, came to see you."
"Did he drop a message?" I replied without looking up.
"He said he would come back to see you"
My phone got my attention, and my assistant took the opportunity and fled my office.
"Did you get what I asked for?" I asked sharply.
After some minutes I broke into a grin...
That's why I always loved Lucas, he knows how to dig out information in a jiffy.
It's time to put some pieces together, I will get her this time.
I was finally in the mood to work, Maya was beginning to work magic on me.
I worked into the night without realizing, as busy as I was, it was usual for me.
I was still working my system in front of me, I could barely hear noises. The workers must have started leaving.
The door was suddenly forced open, it was not another person's handwork. Matt is the only person that has managed to be this close to me these years.
"Dude!! you're still here?" He exclaimed in surprise.
"Were you expecting me somewhere else?"
I replied while buried in work.
It's not like he didn't know this was my habit, he's always making a molehill out of nothing.
He shrugged indifferently.
" I know I would always catch you here, anyways I brought dinner" he brought a nylon filled with food. He got my favorite meal.
He slumped onto the sofa and yawned.
"Man, I don't have to be doing this every time, try and get a woman. You're so boring with women" he mocked and continued.
"By the way, Jessica is coming around this evening, I can't wait to show her what I've got" he beamed with relish.
I glared at him, I wasn't in the mood for his teasing.
"Oops, sorry I forgot you can't relate, such a lonely man, so handsome but single, what a waste of beauty" he laughed and yawned feigning boredom.
My determination to get Maya heightened, I'm not that boring, I could get a girl to look my way.
The next day, I went to Maya''s house, luckily she wasn't around, I had chosen this time because I knew she would be out, and I wanted to meet with her father in person.
The look on his face when he saw me, I could tell I was the last person he expected.
"Damian Sinclair!! What brings you here? He widened his eyes in surprise.
"Can I at least sit?" I gestured to the seat.
He regained his composure and we sat
I decided to go straight to the point.
"I heard you want to sell your establishment. Is it still up for lease?
By, the way is this what you came to see me for?"
"Yes, I just thought to drop by and see you, but I was informed you weren't around, I want to sell it"
He spoke with gloom. It encouraged my mission here."
"Not to worry, I will give you a hundred million dollars but have it in mind that you're not on your own anymore, your company is now under Bullion Group."
He was filled with joy, I could see the happiness, I had to get what I wanted which he wasn't aware.
"But, I have a condition"
"What's that?" He looked confused
"I want your daughter, I'm interested in her" I smirked looking back at him.
I watched his face to see if he would refuse such an offer.
He looked speechless and undecided for a minute.
He finally spoke up with much difficulty.
"Well, I will talk to her, can you give me some time?"
"I don't need time, that's the condition, when you're ready, come to my office and sign the
contract, don't keep me waiting or I might change my mind."
"Three days, Mr. Smith"
He watched me walk away without a word, I was determined too.
