"Killian has a brother?"
"Yes. You didn't know?"
I shook my head, feeling that familiar twist in my stomach that came whenever I discovered something new about Killian that he hadn't told me.
"Weird," Elowen said, pouring herself yet another drink. "Everyone knows about Klaus."
Klaus. The name sounded familiar but I couldn't remember where I'd heard it before. Klaus was Killian's brother?
The rest of our conversation continued, with Elowen chattering about various topics, but I couldn't focus on anything she was saying. My mind kept circling back to what she told me.
Killian had a brother named Klaus, and he'd never told me about him.
After everything we'd just shared, after he'd promised no more lies, there was still this huge secret between us.
