That Saturday evening at the end of June, the wine shop was packed with patrons. The Jesi Philanthropic Club’s charity evening was an event that the citizens always awaited with pleasure. This year though, as well as the presentation of a book on the mysteries of the Vallesina by a well-known author, a fellow citizen, Stefano's jazz orchestra which had a good name now would perform on stage, and they had promised the presence of exceptional guests for that evening. Things had gone along quietly until that moment, the music was pleasant, I had a copy of the book and I’d had it autographed by the author.
