Naomi POV The door handle turns. My heart stops. Kaelen spins around, his body blocking me. His hand reaches for the gun hidden under his jacket. But the door does not open. A knock. Soft. Hesitant. "Mr. Aaron? It is Mary. I brought tea." Kaelen exhales. He opens the door a c***k. "Not now, Mary." "But the young miss looked so pale—" "Not now." Mary's footsteps fade. Kaelen closes the door.
