Naomi POV I groan in frustration and exhaustion as my back aches and cracks. The pain is sharp. Deep. It starts at the base of my spine and travels up to my shoulders. I press my hand against the small of my back and try to stand up straight. It does not help. This back ache is becoming a constant of my day nowadays. Every morning I wake up sore. Every night I go to bed sore. The baby is growing. My body is changing. And nothing feels normal anymore. But one thing is certain. I am tired. Tired of the pain. Tired of the secrets. Tired of walking on eggshells around a man who looks at me like I am a possession. And I am afraid. Afraid of Kaelen. Afraid of the Russians. Afraid of Julian's promises. Afraid of myself.
