When Storm awoke again, she was in an oversized T-shirt that smelled of the sweet sandalwood again. She was alone in the same cabin as before.
She propped her head up and trailed her eyes around the small room. The windows were open, letting in the light from the moon, and a fire was lit in the fireplace.
Next to the bed she lay on was a small table with a glass of clear liquid, berries, and grilled meat that smelled of deer. To her right was a small kitchen area with a fireplace stove and shelves with dusty cast iron dishware. Other than the table and bed, one loan chair sat on the other side of the small table.
She slowly swung her feet around to dandle off the bed when she heard a load, clank, from just outside the front door.
Slowly and as quietly as she could, Storm ducked down and crotch/walked to the window that was open next to the door. The oversized black shirt hung passed her knees. Before she got there, she heard another loud clank.
When she peeked through the corner of the window, she could see the back of the large man swinging an axe to split another large chunk of wood. The wood exploded with another clank, and the pieces fell around the stump it was balancing on.
"Good afternoon, Princess. I'm sorry I scared you." The man said without turning around. She froze. He was stronger and faster than her, she could try to run again but she felt so weak.
"My name is Aiden." He declared as she turned his head to look at her, his piercing blue eyes fixing on her gray ones peering over the threshold of the window. She ducked quickly.
"I will never harm you... I'm going to carry this wood inside and explain everything." She heard Aiden say. Storm had moved on her bum under the window and pulled her knees up to her chest. "Don't try to run again. You're too weak." He called just before he opened the door and closed the door with his foot behind him. The sandlewood and dew scent filled the room once more.
She followed him with her eyes as he strolled over to the fireplace and dropped the wood loudly in front of it, causing her to wince, hugging her knees tighter. She knew she couldn't outrun him, she just sat quietly hoping for information. With information, she may be able to find a way out if this mess. 'Maybe the tracked wolves are already on their way.'
He was shirtless and a pair of worn jeans hugged just above his waist loosely. Aiden crouched down and started laying more wood on the fire. His tight muscles in the back and shoulders stretched and bulged as he moved.
"Ask your questions, and I will answer honestly." Aiden said calmly as he finished and turned to her. Sitting down on the floor five feet away and once again making eye contact. His long legs spread open and he balanced his hands on his knees. The jeans exposed a trail of hair running from his small, tight belly button to the zipper. His abs and chest were coated with the perfect amount of chest hair sprinkled about the tight muscles.
Storm thought carefully about what she could remember, and one question strained her more than others. Somehow, she was taken from her Alpha brother, who was supposed to be the strongest Alpha in the world. He was surrounded by many strong warriors. One of those warriors was supposed to ascend to her brother's Beta in one month. 'Were they all killed?'
Storm opened her mouth slightly and whispered, her voice cracking, "Did you kill them all?"
Aiden must have understood what Storm was asking and shook his head no. "No one will have permanent damage. Your brother was the hardest to take down without killing, but he too would have made a full recovery by now."
'By now?' Storm realized she didn't know how long she has been asleep. "How long has it been sense you've taken me?"
Aiden looked down in shame "Four days... I never meant to harm you, you were knocked out for the first three from the fall and then another day after you fainted here."
She looked around the cabin again, "Where are we? It's colder than my Packlands and I don't recognize the smell of these woods."
"The RedWoods of the human's Northern California." Aiden said looking back up to Storm. She gasped.
Her Clanlands were in Alabama... She looked down to the ground trying to wrap her brain around everything.
"What do you want from me?" She said, tears pooling in her eyes. She hugged her legs tighter, a sinking feeling in her gut that he has already touched her while she was unconscious... 'Had he taken her to r**e her? Had she only not did what she did in the pond, he would have left her alone...' She thought, feeling guilty for bringing this upon her family and pack. Tears began to escape and rubbed her legs, trying to melt inside of herself.
"I will explain everything in some time to come... but I will address one thing. I didn't r**e you. You will be mine, but I will not force it." He got on his hands and knees and closed the gap between them with an extending arm. Aiden moved slowly to try not to scar her more and said in a soft, but deep, husky voice "I promise to never hurt you, Mate..."
She gasped and looked up at him, making eye contact as he slowly wiped away the tears falling from her eyes. 'That's impossible, Storm was destined to never have a Mate, she didn't even have a wolf!'
Aiden retracted his hand but stayed on his knees before her. They stay locked, looking into eachothers eyes for what felt like forever before he said, "A beautiful, white wolf the color of your hair, has came to me every night in my dreams for as long as I can remember... She was always translucent and if it was snowing in my dream, you can barely see her. She was like a ghost or spirit and had this glow around her thats so hard to explain."
Aiden's eyes looked up in a starstruck gaze as he recalled the dreams, "Most of the time, she never spoke. She just stared at me. Sometimes in my dreams I was in wolf form, sometimes in human, but every time, it was like my dream froze in place. She would leave or vanish every night and my dream would continue as if nothing happened." Aiden looked back down at Storm, his eyes soft as he tried to gage her reaction. He's waited so long to find her, and it pained him to be so far away but he knew she was scared.
"The last time she visited me was the night before I started my journey to find you, over 7 years ago. The night I turned 18." She gasped, her small light pink mouth gaping open. "She came to me in a snowy dream... I was so stunned by her beauty... She approached me for the first time and nuzzled my neck. I never remember having smell in my dreams, but I remembered it when I awoke the next morning. That scent was still on my neck and shoulders. Your scent. You both smell like Lavendar and fresh falling snow..."
She watched him in awe as he told the story. "Right before I awoke, the wolf said to me,
I await you, my love, for the stars will align
8 years from now, on the forth moon arise
you must come to me, or another life I will die."
They sat in silence. Storm unmoving in complete shock and Aiden trying his hardest not to scoop her up and hold the woman he's waited for for lifetimes.
