Even with my apartment turned into a fortress and no blind spots left, it still wasn’t enough. What if the killer, after countless failed attempts to break in, lost their patience and decided to set the entire building on fire in a fit of rage? This thought alone sent a chill down my spine. I had to plan for every possible disaster.
I immediately hired three additional renovation companies to install state-of-the-art fire suppression systems in the ceiling. These systems were designed to activate at the first sign of flames, releasing water to extinguish any fire. But I knew that wasn’t enough. A single sprinkler system couldn’t possibly stop a blaze that could engulf an entire apartment building.
To further reduce fire risks, I contacted the local fire department. First, I arranged for them to inspect my unit and remove all flammable or explosive materials. Every can of aerosol, every bottle of cleaning fluid—anything that could become fuel for a fire was cleared out. I wasn’t taking any chances.
Next, I purchased five fire extinguishers and strategically placed them throughout my apartment for easy access. For extra precaution, I also bought three high-quality gas masks to protect myself from smoke inhalation and keep me functional during an emergency. Lastly, I invested in a retractable escape ladder lock—an upgrade from a standard fire escape. This way, I’d have a safe and secure exit in case of the worst.
With these measures in place, I could confidently say I was prepared for even the most extreme fire-related scenarios. But let me tell you this:
Do you think this is where my preparations end? Of course not.
