Time passed at a glacial pace. The guys exchanged secret glances between them, and Marc seemed more loving. Twice, Adam thought Marc was going to say he loved Adam, but he understood. While Adam grew up with I love you shared in his home, Marc’s family was cool and distant. Sunday, November sixth arrived. The guys made breakfast for Autumn. She crowed, “I want a birthday every month so you guys can spoil me.” She sighed. Adam asked, “Still feeling down?” She nodded and bit into a pancake. “Today is also my wedding anniversary. I was so young and stupid. Why did I say I wanted to marry Tom on my birthday?” Marc dropped a hand to Autumn’s shoulder. “That was twenty years ago. You were stupid; now you’re perfect. We hope you like our gift for you today.” She smiled. “You guys are great.
