Levi's POV
"Maya... thank you. Thank you for helping me make Ion happy today."
I said it before we even reached my place. She insisted that I drop her there so we wouldn't have to take another ride home.
"Y-you're welcome... it was nothing."
Silence filled the car for a moment.
When we finally arrived at my place, I looked at her before stepping out.
"About earlier... I'm sorry. I couldn't stop myself. I mean... you know... I don't have a wife so-"
"Don't worry about it," she interrupted gently. "I understand."
We stepped out of the car and started unloading some of my baggage.
"Uh... I hope you won't feel uncomfortable around me after that. I really didn't mean for it to happen."
"Let's just forget about it."
After we finished carrying everything inside, I woke Ion up. He thanked Maya before saying goodbye to her.
Even though she told me not to think about it...
I couldn't get it out of my head.
A part of me wanted it to happen again.
I'm really sorry, Maya...
If the day comes when I can't stop myself from wanting you.
Maya's POV
Amaya fell asleep early too, probably because she was exhausted.
While I was taking a shower...
I suddenly remembered Levi's kiss.
My fingers instinctively touched my slightly swollen lips.
"Why didn't I pull away...?"
I whispered to myself.
The kiss only lasted a moment...
But it felt so long.
And somehow...
It felt strangely familiar.
I wrapped my arms around myself and quickly grabbed a towel.
That was wrong.
Things like that should never have happened.
I shook my head.
"It shouldn't happen again..."
When I lay down on my bed, I tried to push the memory away.
But slowly...
I could feel it again.
His lips on mine.
His hands on my body.
The warmth of the way he held me...
The way he comforted me in that embrace.
"s**t!"
I suddenly sat up in bed.
Maybe I felt something like that the first time I kissed my husband...
But the only memory I have is our first kiss.
And honestly...
I didn't feel satisfied back then.
Ah... maybe it was the kiss he gave me when I came home from the hospital-when my head would hurt because of the accident.
I need to get that moment out of my head.
I grabbed my hair in frustration.
Then my fingers brushed against the small scar on my head-the place where it had been stitched after the accident.
And suddenly, Kaiden's words echoed in my mind.
"Don't wish to remember the year you lost... our relationship went through a lot of pain during that time. Let's just make new memories instead."
I didn't know why Kaiden's words suddenly came back to me.
Then another memory surfaced...
The last day I remembered before the accident.
And the day I woke up in the hospital.
Eventually...
Sleep took over.

Levi's POV
"What if I told you I want to court you... would you say yes?"
I finally gathered the courage to ask.
She laughed.
"Are you crazy? I love my boyfriend, okay? I could never trade him for anyone. The only reason I started talking to you is because you said you just wanted to be friends. Nothing more."
"Ah... right. Don't worry," I said quickly, forcing a laugh. "I was just joking. I don't have any plans like that."
Yeah... sure. A joke.
Looks like I'll just have to be content with this.
At least now I get to spend time with her-hanging out, eating lunch together.
Eric usually joins us too.
Unlike before, when she would immediately leave whenever I showed up.
"So... what's your boyfriend's name?" I asked.
"Kaiden."
