CHAPTER TWENTY FOUR
Fifteen minutes later, Stella and Maxwell were ready to question Jay. Local police had swarmed in to help, and he had been arrested and brought into the closest police precinct. After their headlong chase, Stella hadn’t had a clue which one it was, but it proved to be the Chicopee Police Department in Massachusetts.
It was a small, attractive police station that was typically suburban, set among an area of trim, neat houses. There were a few locals waiting inside, and all of them turned and stared in astonishment as the handcuffed suspect was hustled through to the interview room. Serious crime in this area was clearly not high. This was an unusual sight that would be talked about.
“Shall we interview him together?” Maxwell asked Stella.
