Chapter 2: Campus Bullying, Thunderous Counterattack

988 Words
The next morning, Yu Han put on the original owner’s washed-out school uniform, slung her bag over her shoulder, and left home. As soon as she reached the neighborhood gate, three teenagers with dyed, colorful hair blocked her path. Leading them was Blondie, the notorious thug at Yuying High School—and the one who bullied the original Yu Han the most. “Well, look who it is—our little pushover, Yu Han,” Blondie sauntered over, reaching to yank her bag. “Heard your dad lost money gambling again? Want us to help you find a way out?” The two lackeys beside him jeered along. “Yeah, be good and listen to us, and no one at school will dare touch you!” The old Yu Han would have lowered her head, let them steal her pocket money, and even endured being pushed and slapped. But now, Yu Han only stared coldly at Blondie’s reaching hand, her gaze sharp as ice. “Scram.” One word, clear and icy, froze Blondie mid-movement. Blondie blinked, then burst out laughing. “Oh? Grown some guts all of a sudden? You dare tell me to scram?” He raised his hand and swung it toward her face. Yu Han’s eyes narrowed. She dodged sideways, grabbed his wrist, twisted it down, and slammed her knee hard into his stomach. “Ugh!” Blondie groaned and doubled over in pain. Before the other two could react, Yu Han let go of Blondie, spun around, and kicked Green Hair in the knee. He screamed and dropped to his knees. Purple Hair grabbed a wooden stick from the roadside and swung it at her. Yu Han smirked, dodged the stick, seized the other end, and yanked hard. Purple Hair stumbled forward. She raised her elbow and struck the back of his head. He immediately staggered, dazed, and collapsed. The whole thing took barely ten seconds. The three arrogant bullies were completely defeated. Blondie clutched his stomach, staring at Yu Han with terror and disbelief. “When… when did you get so strong?” Yu Han stepped forward slowly, looking down at him, her voice cold. “I just didn’t want trouble before. That doesn’t mean I’m easy prey.” She knelt down, grabbed his hair, and forced him to look up. “Tell me. Who told you to keep bullying me?” Blondie trembled at the ruthlessness in her eyes, stammering, “I-It’s Li Na from Grade 11… She said… she hates you and told us to teach you a lesson…” Li Na? Yu Han searched the original owner’s memories. A rich girl at school. She’d held a grudge ever since the original Yu Han accidentally bumped into her, and had been sending Blondie and his gang to bully her ever since. “Good.” Yu Han let go of his hair and stood up, brushing dust off her hands. “Go back and tell Li Na: if she wants trouble next time, she can come herself. And don’t you dare show up in front of me again. Or you’ll regret it.” Blondie and his lackeys nodded frantically and scrambled away. Yu Han watched their panicked backs without a flicker of emotion. This was just an appetizer. She adjusted her bag and continued toward Yuying High School. Along the way, many early students stared at her in surprise. The old Yu Han had always kept her head down, timid and shrinking. But today, she stood straight, her gaze sharp, exuding an unapproachable aura. Entering the classroom, Yu Han walked straight to the empty seat by the window in the back row—the original owner’s usual spot, since no one wanted to sit next to her. Many students were already there. When they saw her, they whispered among themselves. “Look, Yu Han seems different today.” “Yeah, she used to be so timid. Now she looks… kind of scary.” “It must be an illusion. She’s still the same pushover Blondie beats up.” Yu Han ignored all the murmurs. She took out her textbook and pretended to read, while quickly sorting through the original owner’s relationships and the school’s power structure. She knew the days ahead would not be peaceful. Li Na would not let this go. And she needed to gain a firm foothold here, gather strength, and prepare for her revenge and future plans. Just then, the homeroom teacher walked in, followed by a boy. He wore a well-tailored school uniform, stood tall and straight, with a handsome face and an innate noble air. Sunlight streamed through the window, gilding his figure. “Everyone, quiet down,” the teacher clapped his hands. “This is our new transfer student, Zhan Zesheng. He studied abroad before and just returned. I hope you all get along.” Zhan Zesheng? Yu Han’s gaze settled on him, a faint stir in her chest. The name meant nothing to the original owner’s memories, but his aura was far beyond that of an ordinary teenager. Zhan Zesheng’s eyes swept the classroom and finally landed on Yu Han. He noticed she was different from the others. She didn’t gawk at him like everyone else. She kept her head down, seemingly indifferent to everything around her—but her straight back carried an unyielding toughness. “Zhan, you can sit next to Yu Han,” the teacher said, pointing to the empty seat beside her. Zhan Zesheng nodded, walked over, and sat down. A faint cedar scent drifted over. Yu Han’s brow twitched almost imperceptibly. She disliked being close to strangers—especially someone with an unknown background. But she said nothing, continuing to stare at her textbook. Inside, she was already calculating. What kind of variable would Zhan Zesheng bring to her plans? Whatever it was, she would stay alert. No one was going to interfere with her path of revenge.
