Nic’s good mood suddenly soured some. Jake had a bunch of women flocking over him at his job. His strip joint meant he was always going to be the center of attention in Blue Creek. “She’s got some serious insecurity issues,” he said, reaching for her hand. Nic took a step back, frowning. “What do you mean?” “Obviously he doesn’t want anyone else, but she’s so set in being pissed at what he does she’s not even seeing that.” She blinked. “Maybe he should be more concerned with the fact his job is something she’s having a problem with.
