Sarai woke up still in the same clothes from when she left New Zealand, she felt a bit odd today, she thought maybe it's because today is the orientation day and she was just feeling nervous. So, she brushed it off. She got up and saw that she had some time to unpack her things, call her family and she thinks she may have seen a coffee shop next door so was going to grab a coffee and muffin before walking to her new school.
What to wear? I have no idea why I'm nervous about what I'm going to wear, I have never cared lol. Sarai grabbed a pair of jeans, her sneakers and a long sleeved t-shirt. She had a nice warm shower and had just packed her bag, now to call her family.
"Hi guys" she said with a sad tone "I miss you guys" by this time Sarai was crying. "Honey, I am so glad you made it there safely, how are you settling in?" George was alert and intently looking over his daughter through the phone making sure she was ok, just before she heard her brothers' large feet running through the house to get their parents' room.
"Siiiiiiiis, man we miss you" they all said in unison. Rome was the first to jump on their parents' bed and start talking to Sarai. "Sarai is everything ok?" Rome was showing genuine concern for his sister, doing the same thing George was doing moments before they bombarded their parents' room. "I'm good Rome, but you know it has only been one night" Sarai laughed
"Sarai, I didn't get a chance to tell you but I'm going to ask out Cee" Tyrell was a bit nervous telling Sarai this, seeing that Cee is Sarai's best friend "Oh my gosh ABOUT TIME Tyrell!" Sarai screamed, "You know she has liked you since FOREVER! Sarai couldn't help but get all giddy knowing that finally her brother and her best friend will finally get together.
They spoke on the phone for about 20 minutes before Sarai had to say goodbye and ask them to wish her luck for her first day of orientation.
Ok, I've got my house keys, my wallet, my laptop, what am I missing? Oh dangit, I forgot to brush my teeth!
This is not like Sarai to forget the basics, she must be really nervous.
She took the elevator downstairs and slipped out of the apartment block into the loud streets of Manhattan and sure enough there stood a Starbucks next door to the apartment block. This was not the main road but it felt like it was a main road with the noise and the traffic (people and cars). Sarai ordered her coffee and on her walk out she felt really weird, only to be realize she had forgotten her laptop bag on the table, she turned around to rush back in to get it but walked straight into someone who unfortunately was wearing a white shirt.
"Oh my gosh I am so sorry, I am so sorry, please let me know buy you another coffee and another shirt" She was frantically trying to collect herself
"I'm not sure you would be able to -" The young man's words were cut off as he got lost in the eyes of the one standing before him
Sarai looked up at him and continue to apologize, but was more worried about her laptop being left in the coffee shop that she didn't even take a glance at him. The young man was a bit taken aback that she didn't pay him any thought and walked straight pass him. "Please let me know what your coffee is and I can reorder one for you" Sarai was talking as she opened the coffee shop door and eyeing out the table she was sitting at.
Oh my gosh, it is still there! Thank you goodness, all my photos are on that laptop, maybe I should buy a hard drive and store them on there. I better go and buy that poor guy another coffee.
Lance was well known in the world, he was a famous musician and had just got his favourite shirt stained by a beautiful woman who had a enchanting accent.
"I'm so sorry, please let me know buy you another coffee" This time Sarai looked up and to Lances' surprise she was not fazed by his looks or by who he was. Lance actually realized, this woman didn't even know who he was.
"No need, I actually have to rush off, but if I can get another coffee another time that will make up for the irremovable stain you have put on my shirt" Lance looked at him trying to figure her out, how could she not know who he is? He felt an immediate spark when her hand touched his chest, he knew what the feeling was but I don't think she has reached a point where she will know what the spark means.
"Yes, definitely if we meet again I will absolutely buy you another coffee, I am so sorry again" Sarai was saying as he quickly grabbed her laptop bag and rushing out to make her way towards Beresford University.
"Do you want to give me your number and I can text you for that coffee?" Lance asked, but Sarai was too busy getting her walk on
"Sorry I just landed here last night, haven't had time to get a sim card. I stay in this apartment block and my name is Sarai" Before Sarai could take it back, Lance was already making the guy next to him write it down.
What the heck did I just do? Why the hell would I give my details of where I stay to a complete stranger? Oh my gosh, please don't say he is going to come to my apartment and murder me!!
Sarai felt like a stupid i***t but had no time to think about this, she was on her start her new journey into her career.
