There was so much to do that the time passed quickly. I ran a lot of minor errands and helped Augie and Charlie with their final duties. We were down on the food storage deck when some significant noises told us that we were switching over from impulse to air-surface control. When that happened we ceased being a space ship and became a conventional airplane, flying like everything else of the same general type. The radio altimeter was back on when we returned to the bridge and the speaker system had been coupled to air-traffic control so that we could all hear the communications which we were having with our destination. Captain Malone was now at the controls.
