************** Lyla’s Pov Tears welled my face as I stared at the faces of the elders. “ I didn't do it. Please believe me.” I said slowly “ Believe in a murderer. I can't believe you killed a man who wanted you to marry his son. Why did you do it?” One of the elders asked “ And you, why are you so quick to side with a murderer?” I looked at the lady beside me and my face brightened when she opened her mouth to talk. “ She did it.” The young girl pointed at Georgina beside Thorn. “ What? killed the Alpha. He was like a father to me. Give me a reason why I would kill him.” Georgina fired back. Thorn lost it, he got from the throne he sat on and walked towards me. “ Did you put her up to this? You honestly think I am going to believe my friend did this?” Thorn looked at me “ You need to believe me,Thorn. I didn't kill him. There must be an explanation for all of this.” I pleaded “ Too late. I have decided, you are going to be killed for killing my father.” Thorn said coldly and walked away from me. I watched as the executioner moved towards the girl beside me. “ Alpha Thorn, You need to believe me. She did it, I saw her.” The girl pleaded but before she could say another word, I watched as her head got detached from her body. Her blood splashed on my face as her blood flowed towards me. I farted as fear was visibly seen on my face. Is this it? Is this where I end my fate? Tears slowly streamed down my face. Pleading was useless now. The last thing I saw was the smiling face of Georgina staring back at me. ***************************************************************************** [ SCORPION PACK ] I woke up and stared at my body. I touched my face and looked around the unfamiliar room I was in. “ Where am I?” I touched my head. The last thing I remember was my head being chopped off. I got out of bed and walked closer to the full length mirror right in front of me and the face I saw was different. “ Who am I?” I soliloquy and looked at the picture on the wall. The room was spacious and it smelled of riches. I heard a knock on the door and I ran back to the bed pretending to be sick. The door opened slowly and a woman walked in. “ Thalia, are you awake?” she called out softly cuddling her. I opened my eyes to see a beautiful woman seated in front of me. “ Ain't you going for the seminar today?” She asked “ I feel sick.” I replied slowly trying to grasp what was going on. “Seminar? What seminar?” I looked at her face. “ Don't tell me you don't remember you are representing the fatter at the auction seminar that is coming up today.” Everything felt strange, was this a second life? How come? I was supposed to be dead. “The servant is going to draw you a warm bath. I need you to be up before she does.” She said slowly walking out of the room. As soon as the woman left, I sat up, still feeling disoriented. My hands shook slightly as I took a deep breath, trying to make sense of everything. I had just been accused of murder, sentenced to death, and witnessed an execution before everything faded to black. Now, I was here—alive, in a new body, and apparently with a different identity. Thalia. The name felt foreign on my lips as I whispered it to myself. The door creaked open again, and a servant entered, bowing slightly as she prepared the bath for me. I forced myself to act natural, unsure of what “Thalia” was supposed to be like, but I didn’t want anyone to suspect I didn’t belong here. Slowly, I rose from the bed, my body strangely accustomed to this new elegance and poise. After bathing and dressing in a tailored gown that felt foreign yet luxurious, I looked at myself in the mirror. My reflection was mesmerizing—a stranger with sharp cheekbones, long hair cascading down in rich waves, and eyes that seemed to hold a hint of mystery. This wasn’t me. And yet... it was. The same woman from before, who I assumed was perhaps my mother or a close relative, returned to check on me. “Thalia, the car is ready to take you to the auction seminar. You need to make a good impression,” she said with a soft smile. I gave her a slight nod, struggling to find the right words, so I simply replied, “I’ll do my best.” As I stepped outside, I couldn’t shake the strange sense of foreboding that filled me. This wasn’t just an auction. I felt a pull deep within me, a tug that seemed to lead me somewhere I couldn’t yet understand. My heart raced, and my palms felt clammy as the car pulled up to a grand building. Inside, the auction hall was bustling with people dressed in the finest clothing, mingling, laughing, and whispering in hushed tones. I scanned the crowd, feeling a strange sense of familiarity—and then, I saw him. Alpha Thorn. My breath hitched as I took in the sight of him. He looked regal and powerful, with a stern gaze that swept across the room. His presence commanded attention, and I couldn’t tear my eyes away. Our eyes met, and I felt an electric shock run through my entire body, an undeniable connection that both thrilled and terrified me. At that moment, I knew. He was my mate. My pulse quickened, and I felt an overwhelming need to reach out to him, to remind him of who I was—or who I used to be. But as I opened my mouth to speak, I realized I couldn’t. He wouldn’t recognize me, not in this body. To him, I was a stranger. Alpha Thorn approached, his intense gaze locking onto me as he stopped a few steps away. “Thalia, I presume?” His voice was deep, resonant, and filled with authority. “Yes,” I replied softly, feeling my heart pound in my chest. I wanted to scream, to tell him that it was me, Lyla. But I couldn’t. I was trapped in a new form, in a new life, with only the memories of my past haunting me. Thorn’s eyes narrowed slightly as he studied me. “You seem… familiar,” he murmured, almost as if he could sense something between us. The air was thick with tension, a magnetic pull that neither of us could ignore. Forcing myself to remain composed, I took a steadying breath. “It’s an honor to meet you, Alpha Thorn,” I managed, my voice trembling slightly.
