Elena’s POV I felt a small thrill of shock run through me at her words. My skin burned as everyone’s gaze fell on me. It felt like they could suddenly read me clearly and see how much shame I felt. My eyes fell to the plates in front of me, unable to hold my head up. The question had been very direct, there was no other way to see it. My eyes slowly rose up to find Julian, I wanted to see how he would respond. I found him staring at her. The room was quiet, not even the sound of cutlery or anything like that existed. Everyone was looking from me to him and back. They all wanted to see for themselves as well. He glanced over and sighed, “Well what do you think” his eyes stayed on me longer than I wanted, especially since he wasn’t looking with appreciation. “Yes she is my wife, Elena”
