ANONYMOUS “What the hell is wrong with you?” My voice exploded in the room, sharp enough to cut glass. “Why did you drag this for so long? I thought you would have ended her by now!” He stood across from me, tall, stiff, shadows clinging to him like a second skin. His jaw tightened, and when he looked at me, his eyes flashed red for a second before he forced them back to normal. “I’m trying,” he said through his teeth. “But it’s not as easy as you think. She has strong wolves around her. If not for them, she’d be dead already.” I took a step back without thinking. I always did when his eyes changed. Being around him made my skin crawl. He was cursed. Everyone knew it. A blood wolf. One that survived by drinking blood. That curse was the reason he did jobs like this. Dirty jobs. Quiet
