“Get away from here!” she yelled, her voice shaking the entire restaurant.
“Do I look like Lena to you?! Do I look like your ex-mate to you?!”
Her words sliced deeper than claws.
“It’s not like that…” I tried to explain, but she cut me off again.
“Leave now, Jackson before I give you another slap to reset that stupid brain of yours. Or before I call the police!”
Her anger was sharp enough to peel skin. I frowned, rubbing my cheek where her palm had landed earlier.
