Chapter Forty-Four Keegan tried to act casual as he walked past his car. He'd tossed his coat in several minutes before but when Sam hadn't shown up, he'd gotten worried, so he'd gone looking for her. Now he had two problems—no Sam and a policeman who had pulled up and was looking intently at the dent on the rear passenger side of his vehicle. The cop was cupping his hands to see better through the driver's side window, after first trying the locked doors.
