Chapter Fifty-Three
Chapter Fifty-Three Doctor David, as he'd been affectionately dubbed when he'd started his career at the hospital in Bentley forty-five years before, set his bag of belongings he'd cleaned out of his locker in the back seat of his car. A few of the crowd that had given him a fond farewell were still lingering by the front entrance, waiting to wish him a last goodbye. He forced his lips to flex upward, before lifting his hand to wave. Once in the car, he started it and then picked up his cell phone, calling his lawyer. He knew that all the arrangements he had made for his wife were in place, but he just needed to make sure.
