It hadn't concerned her that she'd gone to prison because she had in fact killed a man, just not the one they sentenced her for. What bothered her was who and why someone had killed her ex-husband. He hadn't been much of a man, let alone a husband—his eyes and hands had strayed a little too much. The cryptic messages he'd left her a week before he died had suggested things were going on.
