I was lost in his looks.
God, the way his jawline cut through the hospital light... the way his scrubs fit him like they were tailored.
Then he coughed.
A short, soft sound. And just like that I snapped back to my senses.
"What’s wrong?" His voice was low, concerned. Doctor voice, but it felt... personal.
I swallowed. "My stomach. It’s been hurting since morning."
He nodded once. "Lie down."
I did. The paper crinkled under me.
He pulled on his gloves. Snap. Then the nose mask. And suddenly it was just his eyes.
Dark. Focused. So close to mine as he leaned forward to check me.
I could see everything. The flecks of gold in his brown eyes. The way his lashes brushed the mask.
And I was admiring him. Shamelessly.
His hand hovered over my stomach, but his eyes didn’t leave mine.
A ghost of a smile curved under the mask.
"Will my look treat your pain?" he asked quietly.
My breath caught.
Was he flirting... or was that just doctor bedside manner?
I opened my mouth to answer, but no sound came out .
He just smiled behind the mask and said ,”Let’s check you properly,Miss.”
