WITCH’S BARROW, by Chad HensleyUpon a shadowed, cragged cave mountain Bizarre inhuman skeletal grasping sconces Hold flaming torches before glowing fountain. Above- a monstrous, hinged door mumbles responses With dozens of carved mouths full of honed fangs. Rotting red carpet- giant tongue unrolls; Leads to enormous stalactites where hangs Winged, green goblins sleeping over trolls. She stands near, in a kitchen full of brooms, Twitching carved parts and bloody sharp, big knife: The cauldron cooks, steaming black noxious fumes; A brewing spell delaying afterlife. She smiles sharp teeth and sings a cackling song, Knowing her evil lasts not very long.
