Chapter 5Hours after we had eaten our meal and rested, I was relaxing, enjoying being the little spoon as Drakein held me tightly, softly hissing, snoring in my ear.
I didn’t know why something that should’ve been annoying was actually endearing to me.
Maybe because it was such a human thing.
The muscles in my left calf twitched in a familiar warning. This had happened several times over the past few days and while uncomfortable, they had been more annoying than painful. It had been easy to wave off Drakein’s concern.
But this was a little more intense. I had a moment to grit my teeth then the cramp worsened even more. I tried to head it off by reaching down to massage it but this was going to a bad one.
