Morning arrived with an uneasy silence.
No one in the Sharma mansion had slept well.
The old diary remained locked inside Kiara's wardrobe, but the image of the faded photograph refused to leave her mind. The little girl wearing the silver bracelet... the smiling families... and her father's terrified expression.
None of it made sense.
Downstairs, breakfast remained untouched.
Mr. Sharma kept checking his watch every few minutes.
Mrs. Sharma finally broke the silence.
"Is he coming today?"
Her husband closed his eyes for a moment.
"Yes."
Kiara looked up.
"Who's coming?"
Before either parent could answer, the mansion's intercom buzzed.
"Sir," the security guard said nervously, "Mr. Riyan Oberoi is here."
The room fell silent.
Kiara slowly stood.
"He actually came."
Outside, the same black sedan rolled through the gates.
This time there was no convoy.
No crowd.
No media.
Only one car.
Riyan stepped out alone, carrying a slim black folder.
His expression remained calm as he walked toward the entrance.
The main door opened before he reached it.
Mr. Sharma stood waiting.
"You came exactly on time," Riyan said.
"I said I would."
Kiara walked into the hallway before her parents could stop her.
"I'm not leaving this conversation."
Riyan's eyes met hers.
For a brief second, neither spoke.
Then he gave a slight nod.
"You should stay."
That answer surprised everyone.
The family gathered in the living room.
Riyan placed the black folder on the coffee table.
"I've reviewed every legal and financial matter involving the Sharma Group."
Aarav, who had arrived only minutes earlier, stepped forward.
"You've been watching this family long before the wedding, haven't you?"
Riyan looked at him without reacting.
"I make decisions based on facts."
"And what fact brought you to a wedding?"
Silence.
Riyan ignored the question.
Instead, he opened the folder.
Inside were financial reports, bank statements, and legal notices.
"The Sharma Group has forty-eight hours before its remaining assets begin to disappear."
Mrs. Sharma's hands trembled.
Kiara looked at the documents.
"So... you came here to remind us we're losing everything?"
"No."
Riyan closed the folder again.
"I came because there is another path."
Every eye in the room fixed on him.
"What path?" Mr. Sharma asked quietly.
Riyan stood.
"My company is prepared to settle every outstanding debt."
The room froze.
Every loan.
Every lawsuit.
Every frozen account.
Gone.
It sounded impossible.
Kiara stared at him in disbelief.
"Why would you do that?"
Riyan looked directly into her eyes.
"Because some debts cannot be measured in money."
Before anyone could ask another question, he reached into his briefcase and removed a sealed envelope.
"I don't expect an answer today."
He placed it on the table.
"Read it carefully."
"You have until tomorrow evening."
Without another word, Riyan turned and walked toward the door.
Kiara instinctively took one step after him.
"Wait!"
He stopped but didn't turn around.
"This offer..."
"What do you really want in return?"
For the first time, the corner of Riyan's lips lifted into the faintest smile.
"You'll find the answer..."
"...inside the envelope."
The front door closed behind him.
No one moved.
The envelope lay silently on the table.
It suddenly felt far heavier than paper should.
For nearly a full minute, no one dared touch the envelope.
It rested in the center of the coffee table like a ticking clock.
Finally, Mr. Sharma picked it up.
His hands trembled as he broke the seal.
Several neatly typed pages slipped out.
His eyes scanned the first paragraph.
The color drained from his face.
Mrs. Sharma immediately stood beside him.
"What is it?"
Without a word, he handed her the papers.
She covered her mouth in disbelief.
"This... no..."
Kiara could no longer bear the silence.
"What does it say?"
Mr. Sharma looked at his daughter with eyes filled with guilt.
"It's a partnership agreement."
"A partnership?" Aarav asked.
Mr. Sharma nodded slowly.
"Riyan is offering to clear every debt, stop every legal action, and restore our company's operations."
"Then why do you look terrified?" Kiara demanded.
"Because of the conditions."
He handed the papers to her.
Kiara read them carefully.
The proposal required the Sharma Group to come under Oberoi Global's management for two hundred days while a full audit and investigation took place. During that time, major business decisions would require Riyan's approval, and both families would have to cooperate fully in uncovering the truth behind old financial records connected to their past.
At the bottom of the final page was a single handwritten line.
"If your family has nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear."
Kiara looked up.
"He thinks we're hiding something."
Aarav shook his head.
"Or he wants us to believe that."
He took the agreement and read it himself.
"There must be another reason."
Mr. Sharma lowered his voice.
"He isn't interested in money."
"No," Mrs. Sharma whispered.
"He's looking for answers."
A heavy silence settled over the room.
Kiara folded the papers.
"I'm not signing anything until someone tells me the truth."
Her father closed his eyes.
"I wish I could."
Those words only strengthened her resolve.
"If no one will answer my questions..."
"...I'll find the answers before tomorrow."
At that very moment, inside the penthouse office of Oberoi Global, Kabir placed a file on Riyan's desk.
"The proposal has been delivered."
Riyan stood by the window overlooking the city lights.
"They've opened it by now."
Kabir hesitated.
"What if they refuse?"
Riyan remained calm.
"They won't."
"You're certain?"
"They're running out of choices."
Kabir studied him carefully.
"You've waited years for this."
Riyan's gaze drifted to an old photograph lying face down on his desk.
"I've waited long enough."
He turned the photograph over for only a second before slipping it back into the drawer.
"The next move belongs to them."
Back at the Sharma mansion, Kiara returned to her room carrying the diary, the photograph, and the agreement.
She spread everything across her bed.
The old photograph.
The silver bracelet.
The mysterious proposal.
Three pieces of a puzzle that somehow fit together.
As she reached for the diary again, a folded note slipped from between its pages.
It hadn't been there before.
Written in faded blue ink were just six words:
"Trust no one. Not even family."
Kiara's breath caught.
Who had written the note...
And why had someone hidden it inside the diary all these years?
