Desperate

April's POV "I do not have time for this April. Didn't you hear me? I have a party I need to organize. We cannot do this project without you because we have no idea what it is talking about." I almost laughed when Marcus said he and the rest of the group members had no idea what the project was about. Those were the consequences of missing classes. "I cannot sit here and wait for you to search for a roommate which is probably going to be a dead end by the way. The freshmen are in their process of reporting in, how do you expect to find a room? Anyone who needs a roommate is likely to have a roommate now." Marcus said. I dropped my phone on the table when what he said made me recall the freshmen. No wonder I could not get a roommate after asking at least twenty people. What was I supposed to do now? I could not accept his idea about asking Alex Gray to share his apartment with me. He would not even agree to it anyway. Alex was the definition of cool. He could never have a roommate like me who was the opposite of cool whatever that word was. Plus, I did not feel like I was ready to be subjected to having to witness Alex get it in with different girls every night. I cannot stand that. "Look April, Alex is a better choice than sleeping outside. Just accept talking to him and let us get done with this project." Marcus told me. I know he was just being selfish because he wanted me to help them deal with the project as soon as possible so that he could leave. "Alex will never agree to share a room with me." I told Marcus with a sigh. "It is worth trying. You know trying is better than sleeping outside. And I will be there to convince him. He is my friend of course he will listen to me."Marcus said. Like I said, he was very good at convincing people. He just convinced me about convincing his cool friend to let me stay with him. "Oh, just a reminder. He might want you to pay rent so be prepared for such a conversation."he added. "I have not agreed to...." "Stop being stubborn April. Alex is a better option for you at the moment. Now let us get back to the project, shall we?"Marcus said. I was left speechless with no words to retort. He just called me stubborn. There was no comeback to that. We did the project and as expected, I contributed to ninety percent of the ideas. I even volunteered to write the final report. I knew the guys would not write the report and if they wrote, it would not satisfy me. I could not fail because I let some not committed people write a sloppy report. "Great, now that we are done with this stupid group project, I need to leave. See you at the party Marcus. I am sure it will be lit."Eric told Marcus winking at him then he turned to look at me. "April, see you on Monday for the presentation. I know we will not cross paths during the weekend." Eric mocked me with a smile. I knew what he meant with his statement. He and the other guy left with him. His name was John. He was a quiet one but he still hung out with the cool groups. It was now just me and Marcus. "Ready to go see Alex?"Marcus asked shoving his backpack on his shoulders. "I don't think...." "He will agree to it April. Trust me, you have a face that can be hard to say no. You just have to smile. You can be a little intimidating when you don't smile." Marcus told me leading the way. He was interrupting me a lot when I was speaking. This was the second time now and I did not like it. But....I liked his compliment. I mean he just told me that I had a face that was hard to say no. That was a compliment right? He led me to his car and I had to say, his car was nice. He had to be loaded with money to afford such a car. It was an audi R7. It had no many people on campus because no college kid could afford such a car. He drove away from the campus grounds and he stopped around two kilometres away from the campus grounds. It was in the basement of a five floor apartment building. We got out of the car and he led me to the elevator and he pressed the fifth floor. We got out of the elevator and he led me in front of a door that was at the far end of the floor. He pressed the doorbell and we waited for the door to open. As we waited, I realized I was sweating. My palms were a mess and my heart was beating very fast. I was nervous. Maybe a little scared. I was scared of Alex not agreeing to share a room with me. There was a big chance he would not agree and I would have to sleep outside. I could not believe I was hoping he agreed when a few hours ago I was against the idea of even trying to ask him to share a room with me. I was just desperate. Time was ticking and I had nowhere to sleep. The door opened and there he stood. Alex Gray in the fresh with his perfect jet black hair that was wet and falling to his forehead down to his dashing green eyes. His full pink lips and the most sharp jaw I have ever seen. The guy was handsome, maybe a little too handsome. It was a crime to be as handsome as he was. I had seen him around campus, everyone had because he was hard to ignore. He had an aura and that added to his gorgeous looks, he was a real deal. He was very tall. I could guess six foot four. He was also very muscular which was something I was noticing for the first time. I had never seen him in a tank top like the one he was wearing now. The tattoos were visible. That was something new to me too. Of course Alex, the playboy would have tattoos all over his body. "What are you doing here Marcus?" Alex asked in a cold expresionless tone. Judging by the tone, I had already given up. A guy with that attitude was never going to want to speak with me in the least.
