Liana's POV I called him that's evening. Not because I'd planned to. I'd been sitting at my kitchen table with my notebook open and my tea going cold and the clock on the wall moving at a very slow pace. And somewhere between staring at my notes and staring at nothing I'd picked up my phone and called him before I'd consciously decided to. He answered on the second ring. "Liana." The way he says my name does something to my stomach. His warm voice came in from the phone. "Hi," I said. A small pause. "Are you okay?" "I'm fine," I said on reflex.
