Tempest played possum underneath the laced edged linens that covered their wide four poster bed. “Tempest,” he tried to raise her again. “I know you’re not asleep.” There was still no reply, and no rustling of the sheets. “Ah, my fine wench,” he said, this time swaggering to the side of the bed.
