The Key

What do I say? I mean I been with my boyfriend for a hell of a long time now, and I’m not feeling that trust like I used too. But I guess it’s because he’s been a bit funny lately. I’m unsure why, but ever since he saw my Panda for the first time, he went nuts. He bought me tickets for him and me to go to China to visit my ancestors temple, but instead of him going, he told Mariam to tag along instead. I got so angry at him for such a decision because I know we’d go everywhere together. But lately it hasn’t been that way. Now let’s look at it from my mother’s point of view. She’s fifty fifty with this. I mean I don’t know why but it’s better than nothing. So let’s continue...I told her about the situation, but she hasn’t grabbed on much. She told me just to wait it out until things cool down. But I think he’s cheating on me with his ex. And I know it because my heart’s clock is running out of time. And it’s because of him. I just wish he’d be more truthful, but I know it can be a whole thing. Later in the month it comes time for us to pack and go to China. Mariam and I go to the airport and check in our bags. They almost wouldn’t let me on the plane because of my Panda until they saw I can talk. We are now walking through security and the security checks my bags and what they pulled out shocked me so much I couldn’t feel me face or barely even stand. It slowed my heart’s clock down so much I lost my balance. The security guard pulled out the brass heavy key from my bag. The brass heavy key to my heart which I gave my boyfriend and told him to hold forever. It shocked me so much because that’s when I knew something was up, and it was something bad. My mom and dad even knew that I gave him the key. My heart was ticking even so ever so slowly than it was before. I called my boyfriend as soon as I got through security and asked him on the phone while I was crying heavily. As if nobody had seen a Panda shed tears before because I was. I asked him why the key was in my bag but he hesitated to answer. I hung up on him and said you know what, he packed my bags for me so it must have been a mistake. I heard our section being called to the gate to board the plane as Mariam comforts me. At this point I was sweating of fear and tears rushing down my face was making my fur smell like a wet dog. I was looking over my life at this point, but had yet to find any regrets.
