Chapter 2: Mei Panda’s Heart

We later boarded the plane. I asked Mariam if she was coming, “you bet I’m right behind you!” Mariam replied. I was a bit nervous of getting on the plane, but again...I needed it. Fast forward a couple of minutes and we are on the runway. Mariam nudged me on the arm to get my attention and what she showed me shocked me. I didn’t know what had been going on behind my back but now I thought I was in a dream. Mariam gives me the plane ticket boarding pass and I see it says from Toronto, to South Korea. I didn’t know what to think or do. I started panicking and my Panda was out of control...like a beast gone wild. I bend over to Mariam scaring her slightly demanding answers to why the ticket says South Korea. “What does this mean?” I screamed. She was in shock just as well as I was. I decided to call my mom immediately and asked her what was the meaning of this. My mom said while stuttering "your boyfriend bought the tickets he told me you guys were going to China" my mom replied while stuttering. I couldn’t help but think my boyfriend was behind this. Before we got too high in the air, I sent my boyfriend a shot text message saying "I’ve lifted off, can we talk about something once I land?". He quickly replied "yes of course hun". I wanted to play it as if nothing was wrong, only because I didn’t want to scare him. Although quite frankly he deserves it much more than he’ll get it. Fast forward twenty or thirty minutes or so and we’re at our desired altitude. I hear the fasten seatbelt sign turn off. That’s when I got up to use the restroom only to realize I’m still my Panda. So I thought to myself this will take some time to find out how to turn human again because I know my Panda will not fit in the laboratory. Fast forward 6 minutes of everybody staring at the elephant in the room. My Panda. The flight attendant knocked on the door asking if I needed any help but I swatted her away aggressively. I didn’t mean it I was just upset. My Panda busted out again but it didn’t matter. Now Mariam was knocking on the door asking me to come out so I did. Mariam said sadly "is everything ok Mei?" "Y-yeah" I replied. It was about nine fourty-five airplane time. I went back to my seat with Mariam and said "we should order something to eat and enjoy the rest of our flight. We’ll figure everything out when we land?" I asked. She replied happily "yeah Mei. Your my girl." "Your beautiful as a Panda ya know" she said. I chuckled slightly as I replied "yes". "Let’s order dinner" I said. The flight attendant arrived at our seats asking if we could be gotten anything. I ordered my favorite, seafood Alfredo. And Mariam had ordered her favorite as well. Chicken enchiladas.
