The months passed quickly and Owen turned one year old. Ilenia and Javier were happy and organized a small party to celebrate.
Grandpa Mayer arrived with Mitch, and upon seeing Ilenia, he ran to hug her.
"Ma'am, what a joy to see you after so long."
"Mitch, it's good to see you."
"Your eyes have regained their sparkle, ma'am. You look as happy as when I first met you."
"Owen and Javier make me very happy."
Grandpa was delighted to see Owen. He brought him more gifts than he could use and was the happiest great-grandfather.
"Dear! How have you been?"
"Very well, Grandpa!"
"Next year, I'll start with the nursing home, and I want you to do it."
"Yes, Grandpa."
When the party ended, everyone left, and Javier and Ilenia were left alone at home.
