I sat in my chair, silent as my father’s words echoed in my ears. The scolding had finally come. My father had trusted me, but now he stood across the room, pinching the bridge of his nose in frustration. Even I couldn’t deny that I had taken a huge gamble with the $500 million offer to Kelvin. My stepmother and Jerom were practically glowing, clearly hoping this was my undoing.
