CHAPTER FIFTEEN
My journey home took forever. I couldn’t get Tom out of my head; I was confused, and my emotions were all over. What the hell was wrong with me? It was all supposed to be a bit of fun, nothing serious.
Everything was the same at home, James nursing his laptop and the boys constantly in and out, using the house like a hotel.
The weekend seemed to drag. I kept myself busy by immersing myself in gathering information for a business meeting I had the next week. I returned to work on Monday and endeavoured to catch up on the work I had neglected while I had been with Tom. Susan and Lily seemed to be boring me even more than usual, and I just wanted to get away from it all. How I longed to be on that beautiful island, my island… Skiathos.
