CHAPTER 4

“I have come to a conclusion” gives a little suspense. “Well I will accept the Job, I am willing to do it” she added. They both finalized the deal and they agreed to meet at a spot where they would formally meet each other.

Do not tell me you felt she would not accept the Job. Come off it, she needed to take a break and at least this would give a one month vacation. She will never reject it because a great price was attached to it.

They met at a very quiet spot that evening and he narrated the conditions of the job. Raymond is a very gentle man and well coordinated young man. He owned a company that deals in the production of car parts.

Who on earth would not love to work with such a rich man. Rosaline could not help but calmly stare at his nice and attractive physique. He also explained to her that this arrangement was just to make his parents feel that he has found a wife.

He called his lawyer and they signed the agreement of a contract marriage for one month. The following morning Rosaline packed up and Raymond came to take her to his apartment.

Rosaline could not help but open her mouth in shock as she walked into his big house. She kept wondering how he was living in such a mansion alone.

“This is your room” showing her a well arranged room. “Just make yourself comfortable please, you will be served something to eat soon” walking to his room to go and freshen up.

He came back to meet Rosaline at the diner and join her to eat. “So tell me Rosaline, I hope you know what you are supposed to do very well” trying to reach out for some cutlery. “Consider the job done” looking at him with a smile. “My parents will be here tomorrow to visit me,” he said. “Noted” she quickly replied.

They finished their meal and headed back to their various rooms to sleep for the night. “Not again” she murmured as the bright morning light shone in her bedroom.

She lazily headed to the bathroom and sluggishly brushed her teeth as she begged to have another sleep. She took a shower and dressed up for the big day.

Raymond, who was already dressed, knocked at her door waiting for her reply. “Come in”. He opened the door and was stunned at the beauty he saw standing in front of him. She was looking so gorgeous in her red dress. They bothered to walk to the sitting room where his parents were already waiting for him.

They all sat together and had a good conversation. They were happy to see that their son was already settled with a wife. “Hey beautiful, what’s your name?” Raymond’s mother asked. “Rosaline” looks at her with a smile.

They all went to the dining room where they ate breakfast as one big family. Rosaline was happy with the way she felt around them. They treated her with so much care and affection. They left that day happy to see their supposed daughter-in-law.

For one month, she had a good time with Raymond through the contract marriage. They did not have any s****l activity whatsoever, but they hung out and went for some nice parties together.

One month later,

Rosaline went back to her house after the contract had come to a close. She noticed something when she got home.

She could not stop thinking about Raymond and thought to herself is this love? She quickly interrupted the thoughts and said to herself that it was infatuation. Raymond on the other hand, could not help it. He would regularly call Rosaline everyday to check up on her.

On a Saturday night, she went to a bar close to her house to go grab a drink. Walking into the bar she was shocked to see Raymond who just came by to have a drink and relax. They both stood and made a gaze at each other for a while until Raymond quickly snapped out. “Hey” “Hey” they both had a handshake. “May I buy you a drink?” Raymond quickly asked. “Sure it would be my pleasure” to have a seat at the bar table.

They had a little chit chat and they were very happy to meet each other once again. Rosaline and Raymond went back to their respective homes filled with great happiness in their minds. That night, they could not sleep but kept thinking of each other as butterflies filled their belly.

Raymond asked her out for another date with him and she did not hesitate to oblige. It was at a grand restaurant, one of the biggest in town

Rosaline looked her best for the date. They both had a long conversation that night talking about themselves and other things. To them they never wanted the conversation to end.

Raymond decided to make his move as he confessed his burning feelings for her and asked to be in a relationship with her. Shocked with his offer, Rosaline quickly stood and left Raymond chasing her. She quickly boarded a taxi and went back home.

At this point, she was just overwhelmed with thoughts of how to respond to such an offer. She has deep feelings for him, but she was not expecting him to make a move at that moment. Raymond kept on buzzing her phone, but she refused to pick up.

If there was anything she was afraid of, it was love. She just felt she was not meant for any man at all. Besides, Raymond is a very nice man, and she just felt he deserved more than her. All her life she has never been more tense than she was tonight.

She placed her hand on her waist as she continued pacing her living room till she resolved on the next step to take.
