I get to the 9th floor & get to the big door that says Adam Blackthorne CEO on a gold name plate. I knock & wait to hear come in. When I finally do it’s the deepest voice I’ve ever heard. It almost has a gravelly tone to it. It makes my stomach flip flop. What the hell is happening to me? I’m getting flustered over a man I haven’t even seen yet. I only heard his voice and it is already doing things to my insides. I enter his office & at first he doesn’t look up which gives me time to look at him. He’s the most sexiest man I’ve ever seen. He’s wearing a grey Armani suit that hug all his muscles & he’s got to be at least 6’4” because sitting down he can almost look me straight in the eye but that’s not saying much since I’m only 5’2”. He finally looks up and I’m mesmerized by the blue eyes looking back at me. He looks me up & down which makes me feel naked even though I’m white blouse with a blue blazer & matching pencil skirt. I speak first. “Mr. Blackthorne, I’m Ashley Penbrooke”. “I’m your new secretary”. He clears his throat & stands up. Yep, I think to myself definitely 6’4”. He reaches out his hand to me. I take it. It’s warm & calloused and I begin to wonder what his hands will feel like on my body. “Get ahold of yourself Ashley!” I mentally chastise myself. He’s your boss which means he’s off limits. We shake hands and he holds mine a second longer than necessary. “Nice to meet you Miss Penbrooke,” he says. “I would love to show you around but something has come up that needs my full attention.” I tell him not to worry about it but he’s immediately calling someone. “Sarah will you come to my office & show Miss Penbrooke around.” “She’s the new secretary that we hired”. I don’t hear what’s said on the other end but the next moment there’s a knock on the door. “You needed me sir?” “Ah, yes Sarah.” “This is Ashley Penbrooke”. “Please show her around and make sure she’s comfortable.” “I’m trusting you”. “Yessir”. She replies. And the way he says my name makes the butterflies feel like they’re now a hive of bees.
