(Seraphina's P. O. V.)
"... This first girl is a human! As you can see she is pretty endowed, she can fit your needs perfectly." The shotput of a bald headed man cackled in a way that was rather ugly.
The girl that I had previously interrupted Sergey from touching stood in a cage that she had practically been shoved into by a bunch of hefty men, tears streaming down her pretty yet tired looking face. She had large dark blue eyes, that were now wide as she looked around fearfully. Her long honey blonde hair had been pulled back into a tight ponytail.
Her glassy eyes were finally casted down in defeat, and my heart ached for her. Not everyone was opportuned to be in my shoes. I knew my way out of here, but it seemed like they had broken her spirit a little too much.
The zeal to fight on until the worthless race was crushed into nothingness only but grew in me. I wanted to end them for taking advantage of the inferiority of the humans. No matter what, human beings had no place in beyond the veil, talk less of the black market beyond the veil. Even I knew about that.
"Five million!.." a bald headed man with a heavy moustache cried from one corner of the room, obvious from his voice that he was more drunk than a sailman.
"Six million!" Another person shouted from another side of the room.
This time it had been a woman.
It just had to be one of the madame's that came to find girls for their Companies.
There were many girls, all brought up one by one, displayed inside a cage like a bunch of animals ready to be sold off, and garnish the tables of people.
They looked like greedy monsters, ready to ravish every innocence in their ways, and destroy the hopes of a million.
"Sixty million!" Someone called suddenly, topping all the other offers.
"Selling... Selling... Sold!" The host announced the blonde girl's sale.
She bowed her head in sadness, resigned to whatever direction that fate would take her. The dirty blonde sleezy looking bastard who had bought her came forward together with his goons, pulling her from the chain on her neck forcefully to follow up.
Not being able to keep up, she missed a step and fell down. The whole club bursted into a jeering fit of laughter, ridiculing the poor girl. My heart wrenched at the sight of it, the urge to just hold her close and tell her that everything was going to be alright overtaking every other sense of reasoning, but I couldn't. I couldn't move from where I stood; there were hefty goons surrounding us the girls who were yet to be sold, And they weren't afraid to put us down any second that we "misbehaved".
One of the man's goons kicked her side roughly as she tried standing up which made her collapse again.
The laughter of the idiotic spectators heightened, the sound deafening to my ears, and reinforcing my previous idea of blowing this place up together with the godforsaking bastards in it.
Encouraged by the mocking cheers of the crowd, the poor excuse of a living thing made to kick her again. Just as he had lifted his leg, another man came out. This one had closely shaven, blue to black tinted hair, and a slight beard. He wore a biker's jacket over an untucked white dress shirt that was buttoned all the way down his chest to reveal a peak of tattoos and his cuban iced chains. Who in the name of a rockstar was this man? He looked like something out of a heavymetal band or something.
"One more kick on her, and I assure you Bruno, you will not be able to walk..." He drawled in a thick Spanish accent.
The laughter died down when he came out.
"Why you gotta be such a kill joy, Ricardo?" A woman sitting in one corner with a large furry dusty pink coat asked, pouting in a way that made her look more dolly than she already did.
"Allison, she is my property now. Meaning no one except me can touch her in anyway. He can't be damaging my most expensive possession now, can he? She is far more expensive than he would ever be..." He replied, hostility evident in his voice.
So he too did not like this woman? That is interesting. Maybe not all of them were akin to primal animals after all.
He then turned back to the blonde girl who was still on the floor, tears staining her beautiful face.
"... Now, now princess; get up from the floor. You are currently the most expensive thing that I own, so I ought to treat you with care. After all, how else would this beauty be maintained?" He stretched out his hand while smiling at her.
She looked at it fearfully first, before taking it and getting up. I wished that I hadn't searched through his mind; he too was a terrible creature.
I am pretty sure that she felt that she was blessed with a good owner as they walked out of the club. If only she knew. The so called Ricardo man, was not only mentally manipulative, but treated women as s*x dolls. When they "expired", they just mysteriously vanished away. No one ever saw them again. It's nearly as if they totally unexist.
The night flowed by, and all through, my mind was occupied by different thoughts. I was slightly anxious, but I wouldn't be caught dead admitting such. I was sure to be sold the highest, but that didn't mean that the person whom I expected to buy me would top all the offers. Another stinking rich bastard could just decide to show up, and mention an unreasonable amount.
"Move it, b***h!" A rusty sounding masculine voice suddenly yelled at me, tugging me by the chain on my neck.
I nearly face planted on the ground because of the impact of the pull; I had been absent minded out of nervousness. However, I had been trained quite well growing up. It didn't take me even a second to instantly regain my balance, much to the dismay of the bastards in here.
I was guided into the podium, where I was shoved into another cage to be auctioned. I exhaled deeply. It was show time.
"And lastly, for this night, we have a-"
"A lycan. There is a lycan in here. She is a lycan."
