Juniper stood beside me in the main hallway of the healing center, checking items off her clipboard. Opening day was tomorrow and I was terrified. Three months of construction and planning had led to this moment.
"What if no one comes?" I asked, voicing the fear that had been keeping me awake at night. "What if supernatural beings do not trust a healing center run by someone who fought a war against The Covenant?"
"Then we give them time to trust us. But Mary, you saved hundreds of lives during the war. You are the last Healer Alpha. People will come." Juniper squeezed my arm reassuringly. "Besides, we already have fifteen appointments scheduled for tomorrow. That is a good start."
