"I'll get the land," I said firmly. "I promise you, Camilla. I'll make this happen." She smiled, squeezing my hand. "I know you will. You've never let me down." When Saturday eventually came, I felt relieved. I spent the entire week refining the proposal with Wicket, practicing my presentation, making sure every detail was perfect. By Friday night, I could recite the entire thing from memory.
