Deja vu

My mirror was blurry, what’s that all about? I turned the tap on and just as I was washing my hands, the water turned red. I screamed and took a few steps back, I rubbed my eyes and looked again and it was fine! I was so sure I saw something this time….. it’s useless telling anyone because they’ll just say I’m mental, maybe I should go see my doctor again probably tomorrow you know what? Never mind I don’t need medicine to stay normal, I’m better than ok and I’m probably just tired and nervous about work today. My therapist did tell me to come next weekend tho….. f**k that! That b***h Is trying to have me locked up in a psych ward. I somehow convinced myself that I was hallucinating and went about my day.

«AT WORK»

I ended up arriving by 8:45am, because I needed to make a good impression on my first day of work. I slowly walked towards the building admiring the place! There was lots of beautiful lights around it and I could tell that this place would be packed with lots of annoying influencers and teektockers (teektock is a famous social media platform). It looks soo unreal, it has a sign board that says welcome to sip n savoury. I wonder what the inside would look like? I walked to the front door and as I reached for the handle, I felt a strange wind blow past me. I mean yeah, of course it’s windy today but that was definitely strange! I turned around just to be more observant of my surroundings, but of course no one was there…. I turned back and pulled on the handle but it was locked.

“I don’t think you should be doing that” a male’s voice said from behind me. “What?” I said turning around to see who it was and oh my goodness he was literally so majestic looking! He had gorgeous curly blonde hair and blue eyes, and he has this very sharp jawline that we only get to witness in tv or when reading books and mangas…. I was literally starstruck and staring at him in awe completely speechless.

“ umm are you ok?” He asked me. “What?” I stupidly said again but getting my grip together this time. “Oh yes yes, I am so sorry for um… I don’t even know what I’m sorry about anymore hehe” I said awkwardly out of embarrassment. “ ok?” He said raising one of his brows and folding him arms together. “ I think you should ring the bell instead of pulling on the door handle.” He said to me in a soft tone. “Oh yes I was gonna do that” I turned immediately and rang the bell. I can’t believe I met someone like this for the first time and yet I made a fool of myself, I started to wish the ground would open up and swallow me. “ I’m guessing you’re new here right?” He said to me. “ yup, my first day at work” I said looking back at him with an awkward smile. He laughed “ it’s ok…. It’s everyone’s first day too” smirking at me.

“Hi, welcome” I heard a feminine voice as she opened the door for us. “Hi nice to meet you, I’m Jada” I said reaching out for a hand shake. She ignored me and went to the dude I walked in with. “Wow! You got a job here as well?” She said to him blushing and flipping her hair, “Yeah I did” he replied her and just like that they started a conversation. I’m terrible at conversing with people but luckily I got this job, I already know some people would end up hating me but I gotta pay my rent so…. Respectfully I don’t give a f**k. I walked up to the closest counter I saw leaving the two chatting birds behind, “Hey how can I help you?” The lady sitting on a stool behind the counter asked me, “Hi my name is Jada Neveah Johnson, “I’m new and I’m here for my induction” I replied in a very polite manner. “Right this way please” as she led me to the room upstairs for my induction.

It was 9:00am and they began, I couldn’t think straight for some reason, I kept having a bad feeling about today. I was deep in thoughts during the induction seminar when familiar face walked up to me. “Is this seat taken?” I snapped out of my thoughts, “no it’s empty” I said, turning to see who it was….

It was Dawn! What was she doing here? Lord my like is screwed!! I could feel my blood rising and my heart trying to explode into peace. I couldn’t help but wonder what kind of coincidence made us meet up at the same goddamn café! And sit mates on top of that! It almost feels like Deja vu!

The seminar was finally over and I couldn’t wait to get the hell out of here! “Hey Jada it’s so nice to see you again after that not so great encounter” she said to me as she hugged me. Oh she’s definitely a hugger, “ could you please get off me?” I said to her as calmly as possible. “Oh I’m so sorry” she said to me feeling bad. Suddenly the guy I met earlier, walked over to us. “What the hell is going on here?” He said, sounding interested as he grabbed a chair close by and sat down. “I’m just as confused as you are” I said. “He’s my brother” she replied….
