As they finished their meal, a surprising announcement came from the waiter: "Your bill has already been settled." Jane's curiosity was piqued. "Someone paid for our dinner?" she asked, her eyes wide with wonder. "Bluey, your luck is certainly shining bright today!" Brother, you are so cool, said Jude. But Bryan's enigmatic smile hinted at a more complex situation. "Between the two girls, who's the happier one?" Bryan asked, his eyes sparkling with mischief. Jude's eyes widened as he grasped the implication. "Sister-in-law's friend, of course!" But Bryan's smirk suggested a hidden agenda. As they prepared to leave, Bluey's sharp instincts kicked in. "Something fishy is going on here," she declared, her voice firm and commanding. The manager, sensing trouble, scurried over to placate her. "Is everything alright, miss?" he asked, his tone obsequious. Bluey's anger flared. "Why did you let someone else pay for our meals? Do we know this person? Did I say I couldn't afford to pay?" Her words dripped with indignation. The manager, caught off guard, stuttered an apology. With a deep breath, Bluey demanded, "Take me to see them. I want to know who's behind this." The manager, cowed, led her to the VIP room on the top floor. Jude, excited to meet the mysterious benefactor, followed close behind. As they entered the luxurious room, a knock on the door announced the arrival of the enigmatic stranger. "Mr. Starks, please; it's me. You have visitors," the manager announced, his voice trembling. Bryan, the mastermind, smiled as they entered the room. Bluey's eyes locked onto the stranger, and for a moment, she was taken aback. Chiseled features, piercing green eyes, and a charming smile – this was no ordinary man. But her anger quickly resurfaced. "You paid for our meal? I want to repay you," she said, her voice firm. Bryan's smile grew wider. "I asked them to use the finest ingredients. The bill came out to be one million." Jane gasped, shocked by the exorbitant amount. Bluey's eyes narrowed, her mind racing with questions. As the conversation unfolded, Bluey discovered that Bryan was not just any stranger – he was a guest at her sister's engagement party, and he had an unexpected proposal for her. "Be my companion for the evening," he suggested, his eyes gleaming with intrigue. Bluey's confusion was palpable. "What do you mean? Be your companion? Please, enlighten me." Bryan's smile hinted at secrets yet to be revealed. "Your father, Mr. William Sampson, has invited me to the party. I want you by my side." With that, the game began. Bluey, with her quick wit and sharp instincts, was about to navigate a complex web of secrets and lies. Would she unravel the mystery behind Bryan's enigmatic smile, or would she become entangled in his web of intrigue? "I've been attending banquets alone, and I want to change that this time. Consider your debt paid by being my companion," Bryan said, his eyes gleaming with sincerity. Bluey's mind raced as she calculated the cost of the meal, her thoughts whirling with questions. "When is the banquet, and what should I focus on? You know my situation, so..." she asked, her voice laced with curiosity. Bryan's smile hinted at secrets yet to be revealed. "I'll provide everything you need. The banquet is this weekend, and I'll pick you up at 8 a.m." Just then, her phone rang, shattering the tension like a sudden crash. Bluey's father barked through the line, his voice gruff and commanding, "Where are you? You returned not long ago and already show your bad attitude. "Her response was icy, her words dripping with disdain, "Get to the point, Father." Mr. William's voice dripped with condescension, his tone patronizing, "I've arranged a companion for you, Drake Jones, for the banquet this weekend. He'll pick you up at 8 a.m. and help you prepare." Bluey's eyes flashed with defiance, her anger simmering like a pot about to boil over. "Who do you think you are, deciding my life?" she spat, her voice venomous. Bryan's smirk hinted at a hidden agenda, his eyes glinting with amusement. "Enemies are bound to meet," he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. Having his sights on my woman. Bluey's eyes narrowed, her mind racing with questions, her thoughts whirling with suspicion. "When did I become your woman?" she asked, her voice laced with uncertainty, her eyes searching for answers. Bryan's indulgent gaze sent shivers down her spine, his eyes burning with intensity. "Since you're my companion, you are my woman. Soon, you'll be my wife," he said, his voice low and husky. Bluey's sarcasm dripped like venom, her words laced with disdain, "You're crazy, and this joke isn't funny." Bryan grabbed her by the waist tightly, used his thumb to rub her lips thoroughly, moved closer to her ears and whispered, " You are so cute when angry". Bluey pushed him away with disgust and dislike in her eyes.Cleaning her hands thoroughly with tissue to get rid of his touch. As they parted ways, Bryan's whispered promise lingered in the air, his words hanging like a challenge, "Your disgust will turn to love someday. I promise to make you fall in love with me." Bluey's forehead burned with anger, her mind racing with the implications, her thoughts whirling with questions. What did he mean? What did he want from her? In the shadows, Linda's eyes gleamed with malice, her thoughts sinister, her intentions hidden. "I'll make sure she accepts Drake's companionship. Everyone knows he's ruthless and cunning," she thought, her mind plotting, her heart cold. The game was afoot, and Bluey was just a pawn in a much larger game of power and deceit.
