Chapter Twenty-nine

“We’ll start with the need for a therapist. What’s going on?” “I had these nightmares. I still have them.” “What… what kind of nightmares Susan?” “I don’t know. They’re really scary but when I wake up, I completely forget what ever it was that I was dreaming about.” “So, which therapist have you been seeing?” “The one mother suggested, but all she ever does is hand me pills upon pills upon pills upon pills and I’m completely sick of it.” “What kind of pills?” “I don’t know but I keep throwing them out,” “And the powers?” “I know you have feelings for Rose.” “I don’t.” “You don’t want to because of the war that has happened and the hatred that exists between both packs. You know the danger that awaits all of it, and you’re scared that you’ll become a lone wolf if you go against father.” “I have never had those kind of thoughts.” “Not yet. Future you will have those thoughts.” “What exactly does your powers do?” “Well, it can tell a liar within a second of seeing someone, it can tell future happenings and can decode the past. It’s complicated.” “I need you to see someone and talk about it and…” “Storm, you and I have got to keep shut about this. I will not tell you anymore than I have said now but if you rat me out, you will never see me again. Ever.” “Is that a threat?” “Storm they are after my life. I know them. You know them. But you don’t know what they are capable of.” “You have to talk straight with me Susan so I know how I can help you.” “I can’t. I just cannot. I trust you, but I don’t trust them. You have a good heart, but they do not. I will handle them myself, you just keep your eyes focused on what’s important, getting the revenge or turning your back on father.” “I am not going to turn my back on him.” “Well, future you begs to differ.” “You need to start talking or you shut up about this future nonsense. Fortune teller.” “Wow Storm. A fortune teller? You know that I never asked to be born into a family of werewolves where hatred is their breakfast , lunch and dinner. I never prayed to have some powers that have put my life on the line. I just want a simple life where I can eat, sleep and wake up and not worry that killers are on their hunt for me.” “Woah woah woah, slow down there pumpkin.” “You all have something you’re doing. You are busy, you get to live life outside of that pathetic mansion where my parents barely speak to each other. My brothers are douche bags, and you hardly ever see Elliot to begin with. Is that guy even alive? And I’m just stuck with going wherever the wind blows me.” “You don’t have to always follow the wind. You can just have your foot stuck in the ground firmly where you want it.” “And I want to be with you. It’s you I feel the safest around, it’s you that gets me and you’re the only one with the purest heart and purest intentions.” “I would not say that I’m the purest.” “Trust me, your heart is not nearly as filthy as those gutter brothers and mother of mine.” “You really hate your family.” “Hate is a strong word but I guess it justifies the current situation of feelings towards them. Hate. Disgust. Hate again.” “Remind me again how old you are?” “Oh shut up. I’m younger than you and yet I’m wiser than your naive mind. If you know half the things I’m seeing right now from your eyes, your heart would be stone cold, a dark place that no man can reside.” “I don’t want to hear about this power of yours if you won’t tell me everything that you know.” “Destiny actually needs you to follow down the path where you discover it all on your own. If I speak, I alter destiny’s plans and I don’t know what will happen then. I’m sorry I keep saying it, and I’m sorry that you’ll never get to know it fully until the day you find out on your own.” “Wow. And the doctor in there? Does she know?” “She only knows a pinch of it. She reports back to them, so I have to feed them with what I know they want.” “Will these people kill you?” “Only if you allow it.” “Well Susan, I don’t know what to say.” “Let me move in with you.” “Susan, you took hard drugs. Cocaine! m*******a! What the hell were you thinking taking those?! I beat up men who take those things, being completely unaware of the fact that my little sister who has barely even crossed into her twenties has been consuming these drugs.” “I had no other way to cope,” “You’re addicted! You skip classes, your grades are below the mark, look at you,” he has worry completely written on his face, touching her pale white skin. “If they find out, they’ll send me to the rehab and I can’t do anything from there.” “Are we talking about the woman that gave birth to you?” “Yes. Storm, these people are not who you think they are. Trust me. You have take control and stand up for me.” “Why do you trust that I will not give you up? After all we are not of the same blood.” “Because Storm, you love me so much as a sister, to want to give me up. I’m not bluffing, it’s the truth that you and I know exists. Powers exists. Supernatural powers, greater than you can imagine. You have powers residing on your inside and they are completely after it. Do not let them take me away brother, please.” Storm sat down, completely confused and unable to think of what he should do about what he had just heard. “I have powers? I’ve been powerless all my life. Just an ordinary Omega fighting to stay in the light.” “You are not any ordinary omega, Storm you aren’t even an Omega but I’ll leave it up to fate for you to find out. You have not created the capacity and the environment to groom and bring up these powers.” “You’re scaring me young girl, I don’t even know where all of this is coming from.” “Stand your ground and keep me with you. I’m your greatest ally in the battle that you shall face.” “Just say you want to live with me for the rest of your life,” “Ew. I’d rather be on my own.” “Fine then, I bet Celina will be pleased to learn of the powers that you possess,” “You know that blackmail doesn’t work on me Storm. You’re heading back home, your home and not theirs.” She said as she turned up the volume of the radio to listen to the music playing. “Have you ever thought of the human world?” “That was where father had us hidden for years. I ate, slept, drank like a human, with no chance to exercise the werewolf abilities I had.” “I’m scared that father is devious plans up his sleeve.” “He’s your father, surely he cannot be that bad.” “The day you find out who that man truly is, you will eat your words right back.”
