Violet’s POV
I groaned out, feeling a sharp, throbbing pain in my skull as I drifted back to consciousness. My body felt heavy, my limbs sluggish.
I forced my eyes open, the ground feeling rough beneath me and the place clogged with dust.
"You brought a human here?" A voice yelled out startling me.
A second voice answered, defensive. "The scent led to her, I don't know what we did wrong."
I stiffened, and my breath hitched as realization dawned on me.they weren’t talking about just any human. They were talking about me.
