Four days until this stupid council meeting. I don’t know what made me think I could pull this idea off. I reluctantly drag myself out of the giant guest bed in Eric’s castle. My stomach flips as I stand up, because I know that I’m running out of time to negotiate with the vampires. I’ve lost all hope of getting the angels, demons and shifters on my side. And who knows about the Fairies. But at least if I can ease the tensions between the werewolves and vampires the bloodshed won’t be as bad. I stretch, pull on my robe, then pad through the corridor to the Great Hall for breakfast. I’ve gotten comfortable with this peaceful routine. Too comfortable. I need to get on with my mission.
