Black lightning explodes from Marcus’ fingers and toes, and the whole room fills with dark smoke. Panic comes over me, my whole body lighting up with tingling fear. I look down at Marcus, ready to let go and stop all of this. “Don’t even think about it,” He commands. “DON’T LET GO!” Just then he arches his back and lets out a deathly scream that shakes the ancient stone tower to its core. I focus all of my angelic power on him, absorbing all of the infernal energy that I can. I breathe it in, soaking it up and trapping it deep within my soul.
