I hate this. I mean… I love being close to Robin, it’s everything I’ve ever wanted… but seeing Eric in pain is soul-crushing.
The three of us walk silently toward the foyer to prepare for our journey. “Do you want to talk to Aurora before we leave?” I ask Robin under my breath.
He shakes his head. “We need to focus on this trip right now,” he answers, “If she does react badly we will never complete this mission. It’s best if we go in secret.”
The insecurity within me rears its ugly head, and it makes me wonder if he’s avoiding Aurora so he doesn’t have to break up with her. What if he does have feelings for her? What if he leaves me now that he’s gotten what he wanted?
I shake my head to erase the nagging thoughts.
He loves me. I can’t let my insecurity sabotage that.
