Selene’s Pov.
Stripped of my identity and with my wolf suppressed, curled into a corner far from my reach. I could barely hear the sound of her, or know that she was with me. She was completely out of reach.
And I was let out in the darkness, hauled by the guard, thrown into the quarter of the omega servants, and made to work, cook, scrub, feed the warriors, and attend to everyone in the pack house. I ignored the tittering and whispering everywhere that I went, and even the warriors spat the food in their mouths on my face, or asked me to use my dress to wipe their seats.
I concealed everything that I was feeling, because I never forgot about my plan to get back at them, against Morgan, who stole everything from me, against the corrupt orphanage leaders, my parents that casted me aside and even when they saw me being bullied by the pack members, they chose to turn a blind eye and not care at all. And the werewolf orphans I need to free them, they don’t deserve to go through what I did.
But I don’t have the power to do that, that’s why I smiled even when my palm burned, my heart aches, and the side of my ribs hurt. I buried everything up inside.
“What do you think you’re doing? Leave!” Randy, one of the warriors barked at me after I served them food, I secretly watched them practice to train my combat skills since my wolf was suppressed and I could no longer shift. I needed to learn how to defend myself without my wolf.
“Are you spying on us?” He grabbed me by the hair and pushed me over the wall. He was one of the strongest warriors, tall and muscular, and he was in his early twenties, with long brunette hair. My back hit against the wall.
“No,”
“Please no, I wasn’t spying on you.”
“You creep, I caught you.”
“You were mistaken I was trying to pack up the leftovers and clean up.” I lied.
His hand shot down my shoulders, and he kept me pinned over the wall. “I don’t want to see you around here,” he said, staring down at me. “…ever again.” He let go of my shoulder, and there was a slight bruise on my collarbone. “You should know where you belong.” He hissed through his teeth and shot a stare at me. I lowered my head at him, he snorted and went back to the training field.
I fixed the hem of my dress back on and looked out at the field to see them fighting with just their shorts on.
I held the tray and went back to the servant quarters in the backyard of the Pack House. Someone shot out their leg, and I stumbled on it and lost my balance; the tray and some of the leftover food spilled on me.
“Serves her right.”
“How dare she share the same birthday as Princess Morgan?”
I lifted myself from the ground, and stared at the girl, she drew her legs back in and faced the other girl beside her. “Such a loser.”
Cindy was the Delta, a guardian of Morgan. She folded her arms as if she had no idea what she had done. “That’s what makes her even more pathetic.” She acted as if I wasn’t there, and she hadn’t made the leftover spill over my dress and ruined it.
I pulled her by the arm and spun her around to face me, her right hand struck my cheek as if it was planned. “Did you just touch me with your filthy hands?”
I raised my hand to hit her back. “You won’t dare.” She laughed, my hand hung in the air. “Nobody cares about you here in this pack, and any wrong move, I will send the warriors to drag you out!” She yelled, and slowly I dropped my hands.
“Morgan is the one who is pathetic,” I uttered, the girl beside Cindy gasped.
“She even wants to take my birthday away from me, she wasn’t born today, I was, but of course she has to pretend and lie that she was. That’s more pathetic!” I screamed back in her face, Cindy raised her hand to stroke my cheek again, but I held it back and forced it down.
“I’m coming back for you!” She growled and stormed out.
I always celebrated my birthdays alone, the one last year and even this year, but Morgan has the whole pack house decorated for the birthday celebration. I did the ribbons and decorations around the house every time, and when the clock struck 12 shrink over to a corner and blow out the cake candles by myself.
This year wasn’t any different.
My room was like a closet, the only thing it could contain was the bed, and the tiny window, there wasn’t any wardrobe, the wooden chair I had snuck in made it even tighter. The bathroom was outside and was shared with other servants.
I stared at the small cake on the bed. I couldn’t believe I was eighteen already, and two years I had spent on this pack.
I sat down and put the candle on the cake, but before I could light up the candle, the door was broken into.
“I told this witch, that I will be back.” Cindy snickered from the door, they pulled it down considerably and it was hanging over to the other side. The one who came in next after her was the Beta’s daughter, Paulina. And behind her was the other girl from earlier. “This door just ruined my dress!” She exclaimed in anger.
“Take it out on her, Samantha,” Cindy smirked at me. “After all it’s all her fault.”
“She really did get a cake…” Paulina laughed, she picked up the cake from the bed.
“Today is Morgan’s birthday, not you.” Her hazel eyes came down on me.
“Because Morgan celebrates her doesn’t mean I can’t.”
“It means you can’t!” She snapped and smashed the cake on my face.
“Take her out, I can’t even breathe in this place.” Paulina ordered, “And an imposter like you don’t have any right to talk back at Cindy or me after your shameful act that got your wolf supressed, you mean nothing to anyone here, understand!” She held my chin with a finger and pushed my head backward the second she let go.
Cindy grabbed my blouse, and they were pulling me by my clothes instead. Cindy left, took the wooden chair in the room, and whacked it over my head, the chair got broken, they tore my clothes, and the three of them pounced on me with everything they could.
“This b***h, she spoke so rudely to Cindy earlier, and my dress, she has to pay for it! I don’t care how long you worked, you will serve your worth of this dress.” Samantha pulled my hair and dragged me through the door, I tried to fight her off but Cindy was tearing the rest of my clothes off.
I fought back any way I could, but I couldn’t shift and they can and Cindy’s claws scratched my back. I screamed and bit her arm and kicked her with my foot. She stumbled back because she hadn’t completed shifting yet.
“We need her to serve us, Cindy, we can’t kill her just yet. I don’t want our sweet Morgan to shed a tear because of her.”
The cloth left on my body was like a torn rag, and couldn’t cover up anything.
“Did I miss the fun?” Randy asked with a guffaw. I recognized his voice to know that it was him even though I couldn’t see him.
“We are just getting started, we need her as a display at Morgan’s party.” Paulina chuckled amusingly. “The doll.” They laughed.
“What is this?” A voice cut through their laughter and they went deadpan silent, they moved to the side and immediately lowered their heads with theirs hands folded at their meekly in front of them.
Without my wolf, I lose my sense of smell.
“Alpha Bingley Lyrien.”
