ASHELY
Getting home was difficult. I don't know if I should cry or go crazy. My heart is in turmoil right now. I don't know what I want. The only man I held on to betrayed me. The man to whom I gave my whole life disappointed me. He got married to my sister while still married to me.
What kind of betrayal is that? This is so hard to bear. I let the tears pour down my cheeks freely. Lilly was by my side since we got to her penthouse. She stayed by my side.
"Please don't do this to yourself. You have better things to focus on," she said, wiping my tears. I looked up at her. "I've never felt this way in my life. I worked so hard to keep Aiden happy."
"I never thought I'd witness a day like this. He said so many good things about him while in jail. When he didn't come to visit, I knew something was up, but I didn't want to give in to that doubtful side of mine," I said, wiping a tear that fell on my cheeks.
I laughed bitterly. "I was so stupid to think I met the one who could handle all my shenanigans. I was a fool."
She let me pour out my heart without interrupting. I looked at her and asked, "Am I a bad person, Lilly? Am I a bad person? Why do they hate me so much? My parents hate me? Even my husband hates me too," I said tearfully.
"Ex-husband," I corrected myself with a bitter laugh. "I'm such a fool."
Lilly shook her head. "You're not a fool. You're allowed to love. It just turned out that that bastard doesn't deserve you. You are better off without him."
The tears poured down freely again. "It's hard to believe this. It's hard. I'm trying to come to terms with this, but it's hard."
She pulled me in for a hug. "It's best you forget him. Remember our plan all along? It's about time to implement it. I won't let you fall into depression because of that man."
She is right. "Yeah."
"Now put a smile on your face while we make millions," she said jokingly, and I giggled lightly.
"I know how hard it is on you, but you've got me. Remember my promise, right? I'll make sure you get back on your feet. I won't let those people bring you down. You've been so hardworking even while in jail," she said. "I knew you'd do great for yourself."
I nodded. "It's all you. You've been so helpful."
There was a knock on the door. We both looked at each other. "Are you expecting someone?" I asked.
Lilly shook her head, confused. "No."
"Come on," she said.
The door was opened, and Xavier walked into the room. When he saw me, he was shocked. "Ashley?"
I had a smile on my face. "Xavier!"
He rushed inside and ran to give me a hug. Xavier carried me up and swirled me around. "My goodness! It's you!"
I nodded. "Seems as though you've missed me."
He kissed my cheeks. "I've missed you so much, Ashley. Please don't ever leave me."
I chuckled. "I won't."
"Okay, that's enough," Lilly pushed him away from me. He rolled his eyes at her. "Why are you jealous?"
Lilly rolled her eyes. "Jealous that my ugly brother is hugging my friend?"
I chuckled. This is how they banter a lot. I don't get tired of their banter. It's always funny. For some reason, it eased the pain in my chest. They finally excused me, and I had the room to myself. I heaved a sigh I didn't know I was holding.
This was too much to handle. The whole situation was too much. I sighted a phone on my nightstand, so I went to retrieve it. Stupid me decided to check i********:, where I saw various pictures of Aiden and his new bride, my twin.
I stared at the pictures in anger. They went too far this time. My hand formed into a fist. There were lots of pictures posted. Whereas there was a page of a blogger saying bad things about me. There was a picture of me going to the party too. These bloggers sure know how to be fast.
I threw the phone across the room. They'll all pay for this. They will regret ever betraying me. I won't spare any one of them. They all shall suffer for doing this to me.

Lilly brought in breakfast. She was already dressed up. "Finally! You're awake!" she said, a bit excited.
I smiled a little. "What do you have there?"
She smiled. "We have some toast and coffee. I remember they are your favorite breakfast."
She knows me too well. I grinned. "Yippee!"
Lilly arranged the breakfast beside me. I took the cup of coffee and sipped. It tasted like heaven. "It's been a while since I had something like this."
"That's good. Prepare yourself because you're about to enjoy lots of these goodies. Now hurry up; we need to go shopping," she said to me.
I frowned. "Shopping?"
She nodded. "You need clothes. You look so thin and need a wardrobe renewal. Aiden sent your things this morning."
Hearing his name made me want to hit the wall. "He sent my things? How is it so easy for him to forget me? How?"
She held my hand. "Don't worry about that monster. He'll regret ever doing this to you, I promise."
I swallowed hard. "I don't want them. Send them out or burn them," I said, referring to my clothes that were sent.
She nodded. "I've already sent the maid to take them to a homeless shelter."
"Thanks."
Lilly let out a sigh. "There is something else," she said.
I looked up at her. "What is it? Don't tell me I'm about to be arrested again?" I joked, but she wasn't having that.
"Don't ever say that. No one is taking you to jail as long as I'm alive this time around."
I chuckled. "Okay, fine. What is it?"
"He sent a cheque together with your things. According to him, he instructed that you should write whatever amount you want and then withdraw it yourself."
I scoffed. "He thinks I'm cheap? Aiden has some nerve. I helped him build that company of his. He even has the audacity to say that to me. He thinks I'll forget the harm he caused me by offering me some money."
"I knew that man was up to something. This is why I need you to be active from now onward. I heard there'll be a party tomorrow, and I need you to be there. You need to remind him who the boss is," Lilly said to me, and I was already loving this idea of hers.
Aiden is nothing without me. He needs me more than he can ever imagine. While in jail, he always made sure to call for some business advice. I was too stupid to see through him. He was only using me for his own gain, and he achieved what he wanted, so now he is pushing me aside.
But this pain won't last long because I'm about to take what is mine. I don't care anymore.
"That look on your face says it all. You're more determined than ever, I see," she said to me, and I smirked. "They better be ready for my wrath."
